Check your coach profiles. The newest roster update put all coaching profiles at 50. It really crippled the gameplay.

i don't have new roster,i didn't update anything

but also as i remeber i've seen here someone posted exactly same problem few days ago,but i don't remember in which topic

I swear, New York Knicks is the most unguardable team for me
It feels like they are passing through the arms of the my defending player, no collision, main culprit is Melo
Heat, Bulls, Thunders are easier to defend and only watch out for charging players and potential foul troubles
Wed Oct 09, 2013 5:29 am
Oh Good for you
Mine is the other way around, my opponents are locking my shooters down while my players are sagging way too much on the 3 point shooter with or without playing tight adjustments on them
We all are playing the same game. Pass the ball a few times, try driving it to the hoop, your 3 point shooters will all be left free! It's not a bug, they speed up the ball passing and shooting, which allows u to pretty much shoot whenever you want.

so changing sliders will not help?

Resetting roster didn't help, still at 50 everything. Any suggestion where I can get the right coaching profiles? Or aren't they released yet?
It is not possible to edit coaching profiles in an association, is it?
Wed Oct 09, 2013 9:15 am
I feel the game has more flows better than '13, also much better movements... now I'm not sure, either wait or start my association now in '13 with all the mods.

faces, courts, uniforms, and other mods from 2k13 work in 2k14. Scoreboards disappear after the first cutscene (quarter/timeout) and global.iff files dont work, but most of the rest do.

Resetting the roster won't do it. You have to copy the roster from the main directory into the downloads folder, overwriting the new one, then set the file to read only. Otherwise, the game will just download the same one that had the coach profiles as 50. If you are already in association, your screwed unless you start over.

afaik aren't coach profiles separate from the Roster file and is instead saved with the Settings file? Or was that the playbooks?
Wed Oct 09, 2013 11:27 am
Well, what I did works for me, so something to do with that roster file involves coach profiles. You might be thinking about save files, though. I'm talking about the iff file which may contain more information.

No, unfortunately that is how the game was made. I have onball defense set to 100 and my help defense set to 0 and my guys are pretty much open for a 3 pointer all the time. Unless, 2k put out a patch or we just decide not to shoot 3 pointers as often. I've been playing a few games and 60-70% of my shots are 3 pointers because they are always open.

For anyone who encountered the same thing; don't use the xbox feature to redeem a code like you would with other games. Use the codes featured in the game itself.

Don't forget the dashes.

Yep, that's good. I meant scoreboards and draft classes -- a cornerstone for me. Like Albys' last roster (with 14-16 drafts) and the ESPN mod.

So I started with a MyCareer with a PG:
Shot selection is still weird. Wings still take 3's too often, players will drive instead of shooting wide open shots, then get stopped inside and reset, only to shoot the a contested shot from the original place. Way too many live-ball bloopers. Way too many players walking out of bounds (3-4 a game!).
Also I saw Nate Robinson jump over a boxing out Dirk for an offensive rebound, ugh.
On another side note, when your guy is fatigued, he can't jump for rebounds. Like that's a feature now (was this in 2k13?). So I can sprint a full fastbreak, do ankle breakers, block shots, bbuuuuuuutttttttttttttttt I can't jump for an uncontested rebound? okay. This wouldn't be a problem except your coach seems to love you (contrary to last years game), I'm already at 42 min/game, which is obviously wayyy too much for a shitty rookie who can't run the offense. I would love to see more penalties for fatigued players, like reduction in rebound stat, reduction in hustle, quickness, speed. But literally not being able to grab a ball that comes off the rim directly to you uncontested because your tired is not how I would implement it.
Also stop saying I had a career defining performance that will go down as one of the best ever; I had 9 points. IMMERSION BREAKER
Played a couple games online though. Connected fine, played fine, very fair games that I enojoyed quite a bit.

But since then I've tried two different times and haven't been able to connect to anyone.

From the sounds of it, MyCAREER didn't receive a whole lot of attention or upgrades.

Is NBA 2k13 PC version my carreer mode major bugs were fixed in nbK14 PC version ? (these bugs were fixed for the other machines like PS3 or XBOX 360 in NBA 2k13 by patch 1.2, but PC version still never patched)
- No more injuries management after 1st all star game
- Be put at the end of the bench of all star team even if you have been voted starter
- impossible to play the games scheduled in october from your 2nd season
- huge offensive rebound advantage for AI team (bug in al modes i mean)
Thanks for your answers

Didn't notice about the rebounds but when your payer is tired in 2K13 he seems to miss a lot of shots that he normally and easily makes and that's just in shootaround with no defense (your stamina bar depletes the longer you do the shootaround).

Pro
- Finally, we are able to really protect the rim. Guys like Josh Smith or Larry Sanders are blocking machines!
- Being able to adjust release timing for jump shots is HUGE! I couldn't for the life of me get Billups' jumper right, so I just changed his release to 'quick'. Voilá!
- Playing good defense is hard, but very rewarding. I usually play on-ball, then switch to the C or PF once the opponent starts his drive. The key is to always keep an eye on those wings for the kickout.
- Loose balls! I love them!
- At last, handoffs are implemented correctly. The receiver explodes out of the hand-off if you keep turbo pressed.
- Overall a much more fluent experience.
Con
- Shot contests don't seem to count for much.
- Fatigue is (still) bullshit. After 4 Minutes, my Guards are at 95 energy, while my Center is at 70! What the hell? Sliders don't help here, because if you up stamina and/or lower fatigue rate, then your guards are never getting tired. Also, energy recovery seems to be quite non-linear. I subbed out Greg Monroe after 4 1/2 Minutes with 65 energy. At the end of the quarter, he was at 76. At the beginning of the second quarter, he had like 82. Then, after one more minute on the bench, he was at 95! How do you plan substitutions with that??? Also, sometimes timeouts seem to rest your players and sometimes they don't. That's just bull.
- Defensive AI - it's way too easy to score. Seems like the AI can't properly defend the drive-n'-kick.
- the new controls. It's good that they gave us the possibility of switching back to 2k13 controls, but you can't do every move with that layout. WTF? I can't alley-oop anymore!
- glitches in generated rookies, coach profiles
Overall, I am pretty satisfied with this year's iteration. I'm sure that once I get the hang of it, I'll never touch 2k13 again.

So I finally played an entire game, and I must say I like the game. I kinda liked 2K13 too but I ended up never playing it at all, but it looks I'll be playing this one.
The sliders aren't completely out of whack from the get go, and the game is fairly well balanced without changing them at all when playing All-Star level with 12 min quarters. Of course, not enough fouls and too many buckets as usual, but I'll be tweaking the sliders accordingly, and at least it's not frustratingly hard or easy right off the bat. The physics are pretty good, and it's nice to have finally a realistic amount of loose balls, including when rebounding. Player physics are okay too, but I still wish there was more responsiveness and less inertia sometimes, which has always been my problem when it comes to NBA 2K games. It certainly looks better that way, but it's not always fun to play since you have to anticipate your own player's moves quite a lot, which reduces the feeling of full control.
It looks very similar to last year, with a lot of bland textures even with everything maxed out (many faces are better though), and I kinda wished they had incorporated more visual options for PC but I guess that won't happen, and mods should hopefully help with that. The splash screens during the pre-game presentation are just awful, including the player's pix, I can't believe they're so lo-res. Definitely good and consistent performance overall with everything maxed out (about 110-115 fps), but then again it's not exactly Crysis or Metro.
I was able to change the god awful music using Leftos' tool and Jao's tutorial (thanks for that), and now I can't wait for a good roster update from here, as well as mods that will beautify the overall presentation a bit. But overall, good game so far, at least I'm sure I'll be playing it this time.

I have 64 stealing and I'm averaging 4 steals per game on All Star mode with My Career guy only getting like 18 minutes per game at the moment.
I'm a little disappointed with the game so far. It's pretty much identical to 2k13 except they made turnovers (and fouls) 500% more probable.
edit: I just finished a game in which I played 20 minutes, All Star difficulty, 71 stealing skill and got 8 steals

edit again: I think it's good that they fixed the When-you-run-into-the-back-of-another-player-you-don't-grind-to-a-halt crap.
Overall I'm quite depressed with how this game is turning out and I've played over 60 games so far, as Center and Shooting Guard/Small Forward.

Just got it installed. I've got one game under my belt and so far so good. The gameplay seems real good and they improved the edit shoe feature, which is nice. Still has the pastel jerseys from 2k13 though

Knicks jersey almost looks baby blue and the Bulls looks pink-ish. Thank god we can replace them.

Im starting to not enjoy it anymore. The CPU defense constantly leaves players open at the 3 point line and it is very predictable. Teammates won't shoot wide open shots either. Overall a lot of frustrating elements.
