Flawed shooting form

Wed Apr 02, 2014 3:06 pm

There's a huge problem with Danny Green and Matt Bonner's releases in-game. At least online. It resembles a Shawn Marion chuck and never goes in. So I go to practice mode and lo and behold, his release is totally normal with a cocking back action just like every other shooter. After hitting a ton of 3's in practice, I go back in-game and it seems to revert back to the crap quick release that you cannot control with the shot stick. He is totally useless to me on the Spurs. The other shooters are totally normal - Leonard, Bellinelli, Ginobili, Parker. It's damn Danny Green. I thought it was me but no. He releases his shoot almost immediately after I pull on the shot stick.

Is it just me or does it seem like the shooting form is just as, if not more important to the player than their actual rating? Like Ray Allen's form in 2k13 and now his form in the Gamez Animation Patch allows some players to be unstoppable. I don't mean obvious changes, like going from a center's form to his.. but just that some animations seem like they'll hit every shot.

I even noticed after using Gamez Animation Patch, Steph Curry's shooting % went way up. I didn't change the way I played.

It definitely is a factor, as some forms are easier to achieve a perfectly timed release with.
