Don't connect by inputting the wrong birthday. Enter 1/1/2013 as your birthday and you will not be permitted to go online. You may need to temporarily remove your settings.stg file first. This will force you to enter the wrong date every time you play. I don't want 2K updating when I don't want it to, plus I don't play online. It should work for those without an internet connection.
