is there a way to change the default jerseys in my career mode?

I believe the only method at this time is through renaming the jersey art files to swap them in and out.

could you give me an example? like changing Clevelands attire to the Lebron James era jersey?

Temporarily rename the home or away jersey .iff file to something else so it isn't overwritten, then rename the .iff file for the appropriate classic jersey to the default home or away jersey .iff filename. That way, you can easily swap them back when need be. You'll find a guide to the names of the art files and team ID numbers in the NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K13 Tutorials sections (as I understand it, the team IDs in 2K13 are the same for 2K14).
