How to Properly Import Arm Textures from 2K12

Wed Oct 17, 2012 12:17 am

Is there a way to import arms textures from 2k12 to 2k13 without having the black spots on the arms of the player in game ? I'm working on a fictional draft class with cyberfaces and badly need to be able to do that.

Open the 2k12 texture in photoshop, save it as .dds, dxt 1 with no alpha or 1 bit alpha, and import it. Just have to open it, and resave it to a dxt 1.

1) Export the 2K12 arm texture from the iff
2) Open the 2k12 texture in photoshop, gimp
3) There is no need to make any changes except to save it as DXT1 no alpha or DXT1 1 Bit alpha
4) Import it into the 2K13 iff

Note: This does not fix the black arms, only black dots. To fix black arms you need to extract the correct color arms from an iff that have the correct color then follow steps 3 and 4

When i try to load the arm texture into photoshop or gimp it says that the file is unknown/not readable to the programs. Is there a step by step tutorial on converting cf's from 2k12 to 2k13 somewhere?
