Boswell “Bo” Buckner from UNLV is no doubt one of the top prospects in this class. He was never considered as a high recruit during high school but greatly improved since then. He averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block per game for the Rebels. Stats shows that he is only an average center but players, coaches and scouts suggested he is not. He is like Kendrick Perkins in defense, he won’t block you but you will certainly work for your shot. On offense he is like Al Horford who can work both low post and high post. Now if you have all that qualities in one player then you’re going to be a good one.
Other Notable Centers:
Dan Fortson – South Carolina | 7’0” 237 lbs | 21 | 15 PPG, 11 RPG, 2 BPG
Rudolph Popov – Russia | 7’4” 254 lbs | 23 | 10 PPG, 13 RPG, 3 BPG
Casey Moore of North Carolina is now being dubbed as the Answer 2.0. He admitted that growing up he modeled his game after Allen Iverson. He is the leading scorer for the Tar Heels with 25 points and he has also a knack for playing the passing lanes as he averaged almost 3 steals per game. He is more of scorer than a facilitator though as he only averaged 2 assists per game but that maybe because of his backcourt teammate Marcus Wright running the offense. One scout suggests that if he had the ball in his hands more often he can easily average 30 points. Expect Moore to be a top 5 pick for sure.
Other Notable Point Guards:
Marcus Wright – North Carolina | 6’1” 185 lbs | 21 | 11 PPG, 9 APG, 1 SPG
Jeff Garrett – Baylor | 5’11” 165 lbs | 22 | 18 PPG, 5 APG, 2 SPG
Wayne Mason – Arizona | 6’2” 180 lbs | 21 | 13 PPG, 4 RPG, 6 APG, 1 SPG
