Minor question. Is it possible to switch Steph Curry's shoes from Nike to Under Armour?

This is 2k issue, and you can see this with all dc and in every 2k game, no matter 2k12, 2k13 or 2k14. No way to fix it.

whats wrong with ratings, im listening

They have no sense, like Gudaitis rating are 69 3rd in the team, MCW 63 rating, Dion waiters 63 too, B. Biyombo 79 best in the team, even LeBron James 86. its just few examples and all teams have whole lot of problems with that

Hey guys, I promised to help but didn't and just went dark instead. That wasn't very nice and I don't feel very good about it either, so sorry!

To add something constructive I noticed a few things in the new roster:

- the '88 Pistons are fucked up, I think some players were assigned ratings of other players (some scrub has rodman's ratings and rodman has some scrub's ratings for example). This is only a problem in the FinalUltraRosterBase, in the 1988 roster the Pistons are fine.

- Post Offense Rating: I don't know the formula but there are a few known post scorers with low ratings. Shaun Livingston is a big guard who mostly scores on turnaround shots after posting up smaller players, he has 25 PostOff (and 25 PostDef, also 25 SIT  ) and no post play types assigned (only P&R ballhandler). He has high ratings for close shot and PostFade, so that might be enough to shoot turnarounds, don't know. Others are Adrian Dantley ('88 Pistons) and Jimmy Butler, I don't know them too well but 50 PostOff seems low as Dantley is known primarily as a one-on-one iso/post scorer and Butler can pull some moves and gets fouled often because of that. maybe they should be around Klay Thompson (65) or James Worthy (70) level.
Also Draymond Green has 50/50 PostOff/PostDef, sure he is not a better post defender (I know it's not his strength)? Also he can punish weaker defenders on the block offensively but I don't know if that warrants much more than a 50.

- Playing a few mins against the Warriors, Curry doesn't seem aggressive/threatening with his off-the-bounce-three, what I mean is I feel I can go under picks and he won't abuse that and shoot like real Steph would. There is no need to trap him in the game while in RL he's constantly trapped because defenses are so scared of his three ball. I didn't test this much and I know this is a difficult ask and may not be possible if you want to stay within the ratings-generated-by-stats concept, just thought I'd give you something to aim for :P .

And one that is probably best directed at slimm:
Larry Bird has a large Speed/Quickness/Perimeter Defense advantage over McHale, unreasonably large to me. I'm not an expert and I'm going of hearsay here but I read multiple times that McHale used to defend SFs so Bird could guard PFs because Larry was too slow to stay with guys on the perimeter. This would make no sense with the ratings they have in the roster (looking at '86 Celtics in FinalUltraRosterBase here). Do you scale ratings by position? If so, I suggest trying how Bird turns out if you rate him as a PF, he just seems too quick now (looking at the ratings, haven't tested how well he defends in game, so maybe much ado about nothing).

Just some stuff I notied, although the Pistons thing is a rather big deal, as they are unplayable atm.
Still great roster otherwise!

Slimm, Mighty Lord, please help me!
Overall rating means nothing. Play the game, simulate the game and then post opinions. Ratings are the best part of this mod, period, there is no place for discuss until you run the game.

 che, first question, did you load urb sliders

All other ratings issue will be checked, it was copy/pasted so lvl of difficulty is really high, and there is a place for mistake in such a big roster. (Y)

Please comb through the rosters and post things like this. It will make it easier to fix everything at once.

che, talked with slimm while ago, Curry thing is for sure AI issue(its fixed in 2k15), when play is set, it must run to the end. Curry will shot in freelance situation every time you leave him wide open, just checked this in game, not when play is running and shooter is someone else.

Ok that makes sense, kinda what I observed, too. He's more concerned with running the play than taking the open shot. Does he take the shot if you go under the screen in a freelance pick&roll, though? I can only remember great shooters like him or Durant still driving the ball instead of punishing me for giving them space, may be an AI issue, too or maybe they weren't freelance P&Rs.

From what I've observed, the AI ball handler in a freelance PNR will take what is given to him. If you double hard on the screener, he'll tend to drive but, if the player has high shooting tendencies from that area of the court, he will drive until he is open, then shoot. If you double hard on the ball handler, he'll often look to the screener, whether he rolled or popped.

I'm not 100% on what the On-Ball Defense (DEF) rating does. I believe it's the ability to stay in front of and bother a ball handler. Given that I found some weird ratings in your base roster.

There are some players known as one-on-one defensive stoppers or at least defense first players who have relatively low ratings:

Sidney Moncrief 70
Michael Cooper 70 (also only 58 DefAw)
Demarre Carroll 70
Kent Bazemore 70
Khris Middleton 70
Danny Green 75 (although high DefAw, so good team defender)
Cliff Robinson 70 (not really familiar with him)

and some other cases that made me look twice:
'05 Manu Ginobili is also only on 70
James Harden has a reputation of improving his D from terrible to passable this year, he still has a 60 but also 81 DefAw which kinda makes him the best (at least top 3) SG in your roster at team defense, which doesn't sound right.
On a similar note Harrison Barnes has 97 DefAw. I get that it comes from the Warriors' great Drtg and Bogut&Green probably deserve their 90+ DefAw, but Barnes at 97 when Iguodala has 77? Curry has 88 also. It makes sense when you want to simulate Golden State's great team D but if you plan on doing fantasy drafts (like me) it doesn't translate well.
Ricky Rubio is regarded as a very smart player and great defender (possibly more in team context than 1vs1, no expert) but he seems rather dumb (48/46 OffAw/DefAw) and a defensive liability (60 Def).
On the other hand there are a few players regarded as bad/inconsistent defenders or even turnstiles with high ratings: Mark Jackson is on 85 DEF and Dame Lillard on 75, also Westbrook on 90.
Then there's Bird at 75 and McHale at 60, like I mentioned before.
Does Rodman really deserve his 91 DefAw for '95 & '96, considering he had a reputation for operating outside of team defense and even abandoning his man to chase rebounds?
Anthony Mason ('90s Knicks & Hornets) was known as a point forward, should he have Play Initiator set to Yes?
Same Question for '05 Ginobili, Doug Christie, Jalen Rose, Grant Hill, Joe Dumars, Bulls Pippen.

This is all from the ultrarosterbase.

I will definitely look at some of what you posted. Thank you and, please, keep looking.

#1 Overall means very, very little. There are specific ratings that each position needs to have a high overall. If a player hits these ratings with high numbers, they get a high overall. If they don't, they don't. My ratings are based on stats, other rosters aren't. It's as simple as that. I have had devs tell me that the scales I use are as close to 2k's as there are, just I edit players more than they do. Look at overall ratings as relative. There are only a handful of players in this entire project rated above a 90 and I think the highest overall is a 92. Most users are just so used to having 20+ 90 rated players that they don't know what players look like when they are rated properly. I know this probably sounds arrogant, but it is what it is.

#2 I calculate offensive (offensive rating + offensive win shares) and defensive awareness (defensive rating - defensive win shares) with stats. Try not to think of this rating as intelligence, rather as efficiency. It will make a lot more sense then.

Re: URB V35 [32 Complete Seasons Mods] WHERE SIM HAPPENS! FAs Madness!

Mon Jul 06, 2015 7:56 am

Offensive efficiency makes senste to me, but on the defensive side? Maybe effectiveness? If you can describe what exactly DefAw does ingame, I'd be much obliged, although I suspect it influences everything a player does.

In case the clarification of overall ratings was meant for me: sorry for being unclear, I know that and have no problems with the overall ratings, they only matter in fantasy drafts or new seasons where you let the AI choose their own rotations anyway. '05 Joe Johnson has a 68 OVR and he's a beast, so...
Most of my post was about the onball defense rating and every number where I don't explicitly state which rating it represents implies a DEF rating. I also view ratings as relative to each other, the main reason for that post was me seeing Artest & Battier on 99 DEF, most other defensive stoppers on 90 and then the guys I mentioned at 70, didn't seem right.

I won't promise anything this time but I hope to look at positions (like Draymond Green being SF/PF instead of PF/C) and Play Types (like Shaun Livingston not having Post Up High/Low).
