Hey all - I'm in my third season with the 92/93 rosters and I've run into a game-breaking bug. After finishing the All-Star game, the game crashes-to-desktop, like there's some variable missing. The weird thing is that I can PLAY the ASG, but completing it, including simming it, triggers the immediate CTD. My guess is that it's the news post on the Headlines screen, maybe the jerseys?

Obviously I've played two seasons before this, so it's especially weird. I have redownloaded all the parts of the mod, so it's possible some new jersey is getting in the way?

Also, the Stars/Elites game didn't have any players, and I got no news about who won the dunk/3 point contest, so it's possible the entire weekend got borked somehow.

I have Reditor so if there are a couple variables I can switch around, that would be great. I've just never had a constant POST-game crash with 2k13.

arkaeyn, hmm its always hard to find where is the problem in this kind of situation. Did u try to start new asso with 93 and simulate three seasons? just to test is it some kind of random issue.

Yeah, I figure it's probably impossible to tell unless there's a known All-Star issue, but with 60-odd pages I don't know if it's been mentioned before.

no its not, i dont remember do i include all star teams in select teams menu before quick game?

In v4 you don't, but in v3, which I think was the one I started with, you did.


EDIT: a quick sim of three years didn't trigger an ASG crash, but given how different everything involved might be, that's not a huge surprise. What's the deal with All-Star teams in quick play vs Association?

If i good remember rosters with added all star teams causes crashes or weird things in asso mode. I will ask Vlad what he thinks about this. If u are able to edit asso file can you try to change all-star team type in teams tab?

Changing the TType to 22 doesn't seem to help. Setting the SomeID1 to 0, as it is in your v4 rosters, causes it to crash BEFORE the game, so that's...something.

I have a backup save from the start of the season so I guess I try that. it may be that whatever happened with the Stars-Elites game has made it impossible for me to continue. Or, perhaps, I could set the date to be the day after the ASG in the trainer.

EDIT: Trainer just moves the date forward, doesn't actually skip the game. dammit.

EDIT 2: okay, I think I've figured out how the problem is working, if not necessarily how to fix it. The game seems to be using the same All-Star rosters every time. So it's 1995 and Sean Elliott is still on the West All-Stars, even though he was traded to the Knicks in the off-season. This also might explain why the Stars-Elites game had no players. Unfortunately, just switching Elliott out for a player who's still in the West didn't work.

EDIT 3: okay, I just ran the season from my backup save at the very end of the previous year, with the All-Star teams properly set in the TType for the entire season. The whole All-Star weekend ran better: I got the right news stories about players getting snubbed, being on the Elites-Stars teams and the dunk contest, etc, which I hadn't in my regular game. The players on the All-Star Teams weren't the 1993 players either.

And then it crashed after the ASG anyway. Bah.

I will report this +your tests to Vlad but damn it looks like this is not a problem. Are the rookies and sophmores correct? Did you tryin copy whole team tab from v5 into your asso?

I don't have v5 yet, but I just tried to copy the full tab of the All-Star teams and Stars/Elites from v4, and it crashed the game when trying to START the ASG. So that doesn't help.

Let me know if you hear anything from Vlad. Sound like this probably doesn't have to do with your mod specifically, or at least its current version. It probably wouldn't hurt too much for me to start a new Association anyway with one of your latest versions.

well, I've edited a LOT of things in my game. Added jerseys, changed players, changed team names, logos, arenas, coaches, and so on. Even copy-pasted your salaries from v4 into my v3 game. Why this would manifest as the ASG causing a crash is beyond me, but I'd say that if you haven't heard of this before, it's probably me not you.

One other possibility--the ASG appears to be the same day as the trade deadline. Since the crash occurs AFTER the game, it may be something is triggering the trade deadline and that's the crash? That seems very unlikely to me--especially since simming my backup doesn't lead to the crash--but as I've said, crashes after a game finishes are confusing.

i have no idea, but this is very good question. I see 85 roster is set to 1 for nonexisting teams. I will ask Vlad and i must ask Pathehead why he set to 1.

hehe, i am almost sure i already change this to 6 but maybe i copy/paste from download section previous description, its strange because there is also v4 download link. v4 is better in some little things, but overall v6 is the best avaible imo- i dont like sj overbburning my eyes global, but i already mentioned about this i think

well i switched to SJ's latest combo global to test it a little bit further.

the truth is, i simply cannot overtake lagoa's poor skin texture and ammount of sweat in both v4.1 and v6 also. SJ did a better job in that department.

but both are far, far away from their 2k14 globas, which are very, very good actually.

p.s. sonics' alternate jersey (red one) should have v-neck collar and it was used only in 99/00 and 00/01, so you should remove this jersey from 98 and 99 mods.

noted, im working on an update for the 85 roster with a bunch of new uniforms and cfs, including a young kersey. any thing else you might find, please share. only worked on art files so far but plan on touching up some other stuff too.

Guys great news, sazer77 just send me another 7 full hd retro courts for 93 roster, so we need 6 more to have great quality courts for retro roster, i think first time ever haha, i will post some screens soon, really amazing job by sazer
