Bret Hart would had said the same thing.

jokes aside, for community members that keeps saying 2K13 is better gameplay wise than 2K12 will just repeat themselves when 2K14, 15, 16, etc comes out...but one thing is for sure, nothing will beat the original UBR Project for 2K12....and i will continue to play it like it's 1999. :P

if HAWK23 and the team members of UBR continues to support this amazing project that will never be top (in my opinion), i will continue to support them and be part of the team....family.

Now seriously, before the topic got locked or moved.

The UBR is like The Beatles, NASA or the NBA itself. It's a paradigm.

In the future, we gonna seek into dictionaries to find what the UBR means, and it gonna appears: "Ultimate Base Roster Mod Pack" (or simply "UBR"), it's a global project for Video Games made under and by the avatar of (Hawk23) matched by a international crew that joined their own creativity into the history of the NBA Basketball itself & blah, blah, blah...

The UBR was build into a foundation of unselfishness, respect and spirit of group. Look to myself as an example, i got my hard days with Hawk, and some NLSC members, but at the end of the day, HE NEVER took it away mine super retro teams, altough he first and main worry were to fill the 80's and the 90's (his predilect era) with teams and action. That's a sign of respect.

We got guys like me, passionate, fighting for new ideas with everybody, always seeking for extend the project.

Guys like Retro, Francis, Sevin and Chris, more calm, with more discipline, always supporting the game with art files.

Guys like Vlad, Leftos, Jao, creating manuals, tutorials, programs and spreading the tools for creation.

Guys like Mike, Bird, Nuhmete, Hawk, Ray, getting some work and perfectioning, transforming what's good into better pieces, shaping the game.

Guys like Broken, Red, Suriad, always fixing every little detail and again, making our experience perfect.

Just to say some names, the group is large and mix experience and youth, inteligence and hard work, so my conclusion boards the rightful meaning for the UBR, as logically i'm in favor of seeing this Project Master Piece over and over as years goes by in next versions of NBA 2K13, 14, 15,... or NBA Lives... Do not fool yourselves, cause like the name said the UBR is the BASE.

And the basis is the area of work where we develop other projects (maybe in the future? Who knows???), so if someone wanna a new UBR, gotta seed it's basis.

And 3 things are needed as we need water to live:

1) A software like the Reditor to copy and move this giant database to the "new game"
2) Art files in mass (from jerseys, courts, gears... till CF's for coaches and players)
3) A group of individuals that focus in the same gold, but in diferent ways, to do what is needed to complete the job.

UBR Family forerver! :bowdown2:
Gotta Respect men.

Totally agree with you,we already have everything we want in this project on 2k12 and updating all the time (Y) full support to stay with 2k12 (Y) (Y)

sevin0seven, all due respect, you're saying words, but they're making no sense to me. Why would UBR for 2K12 be the best there ever will be? Why wouldn't a similar effort for 2K13 be just as good or even better? What's so special about any mod that makes it the best there ever will be?

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with that sentiment. No, no, no.

It's not that I don't respect the work that was and is being put into UBR for 2K12. I do, and everybody knows that. But again, saying there's no point in getting UBR to newer games? What the hell are you on about? Why can't we get together as a community every year and try and repeat as much of the project as we can? Just because we won't be able to replicate everything, we shouldn't try at all? Remember when UBR was in its first 10 versions? Remember when UBR was in its first 20 versions? Everyone thought it was great back then, and any new attempt at the project will have to go through all those versions before reaching the level of UBR.

But I can't accept that there's no point in getting UBR or a similar project to 2K13. Why? Because it's a much better game. Will 2K14, 15, 16 be better? Probably. Will there be a point in the community getting together to recreate as much as we can every year? Definitely.

You shouldn't say stuff like that about ANY mod, no matter how small or big. Each year, companies will strive to make their games better, and each year, we'll be here as a modding community to try to add to them and make them better.

Just a question. Had REDitor come out, say, in November, would you still be saying all that stuff? HAWK23 says he won't convert or recreate UBR for 2K13 because it's March already. Let me disagree even with that, because a lot of the work is already done and could be copy-pasted or converted. A lot of the time last year was spent on trying new stuff out, adding new art that never existed before, building the roster gradually. Now we already have what we'd want to transfer over, we already have art that we can convert. But still, even with the "it's March, there's not much shelf life in the game", if REDitor was out in November, would it still be pointless to get UBR to 2K13?

I really don't get it. I really don't. You played 2K13, and then went back to 2K12 with UBR. Great. 2K12 has UBR, but 2K12 is a broken game in more ways than I can stand. 2K13 is a great game, and is a great base game for mods.

What's wrong with having the "greatest mod ever" in the latest and IMO one of the greatest iterations of NBA 2K? Why will NOTHING beat 2K12's UBR? What kind of logic supports that? Should we give up on modding altogether because nothing will ever beat UBR and so there's no point in playing any other game?

And here's a question to you HAWK23. If the team isn't willing to get UBR to 2K13, would you allow other members of the community to get together and try to convert the mod? Would you give them permission for something like that? Everyone else who contributed to UBR, same question. Would you object with the community getting together to try and bring UBR over by converting assets and working on recreating the rosters?

Mr. HAWK23 will you welcome attempts by other members of the modding community (like me and my other teammates) to recreate the project when REDitor comes out if you're not converting it to 2K13?

To Everyone,

lets give HAWK23 the opportunity and a chance to decide the direction he wishes to lead the great mod of The Ultimate Base Roster [for NBA2K12], I can bet this is why he posted it here to see how much the community like it in 2k12 and wanted members to know it still getting updated daily. Plus Vlad has not even released the REDitor for 2k13 as of yet. and HAWK23 continuous work on 2k12 updates are most likely due to that. We converse a lot about the mod and it's greatness to achieve the best ever for the gaming experience of 2k12. I support him in all he does for the game of 2k12 and still providing him with jerseys/courts/ etc. and also insights without him asking to help him to improve the mod to be the BEST EVER. So let's seat back and see what direction he goes in once REDitor is out. and if he wishes not to bring it to 2k13 for whatever and respect that and if he does not allow others to recreate his work so be that. I've seen the community lie, cheat, beg, and steal work from others without permission and use others to get permission so they can recreate others work like it there's, I'm was guilty of that in use some jersey & texture work myself in my early stages of modding " which I still do from LIVE Series ", because it's easy too do so. but I try learn more and more as I try to create my own work and still learning. so my word to all lets give credit to him for the great work he has done in 2k12 and if he wishes to not continue it for 2k13 then let it be. let him Retire it like the great things/people get for the best they were. and try to come up with things like it as a tribute to with similar achievements!

retroman, nobody's forcing HAWK23 to do anything. He can stay with 2K12, he can say he doesn't want anyone to use content from UBR in any other mod. I'm just saying that because UBR is great, we should be doing our best as a community to try to always bring it to the latest game. It's a great achievement, so why confine it to one iteration of the game? Why not make a point of getting the whole community together every year to work on this?

leftos, were cool bro, but your missing what I said. the community should do something similar to it! and I'm be there too like always. but some are pushing! and something similar doesn't not need permission only the work/creations do!

NBA 2K12 with UBR > NBA 2K13

I my friend disagree.... the mod is amazing, but 2k12 gameplay is still horrendous.... 2k13 default is better gameplaywise , way better than 2k12 with any mods

Sorry man, any other basketball game WILL EVER TOP NBA 2K12 WITH UBR COMPLETED...

20 years from now, guys will remember and try to copy our team effort (at 2K12) in future NBA Games, Sevin is right, just simple.

OH ok bro, we will just have to agree to disagree, URB is and amazing amazing mod, but the foundation in which its on t broken, most 2k lovers hated 2k12, me included..... so IMO as great as the mod is, i just cant go back to the broken mess of 2k12 when 2k13 greatly beats, destroys 2k12 gameplay in all areas... URB+ 2k13 would be epic, b ut at this point it really doesn't matter, 2k14 is down the road, so people will be wanting the project for 2k14, I respect the URB team and work, but i dont respect 2k12, so for that reason my friend, nothing is worth going back and installing it on my system, the game is too broken to enjoy

If HAWK is good with others modders making the conversion, it's something that can be start without Reditor. Luckily, a lot of things in 2k13 are compatible with 2k12 and a lot of the rest is already converted.
