hmm. I have tried original ganedata and there is the same net movement even with no shots are taken. I don't know is it just for me and you
yeah its normal.. i think its because the vibration of the player and the crowd like in real life... because when in practice mode the net is still... try to observe...BTW this is vero cool thank you very much for this exrxixx and to jaosming for the hex tut.

The net is a solid body: the ball seems to permeates.
possible?
After some testing (it could be it was not enough) I can say that ball permeates the net only if you use modded exe by MICHAELVLUTZ49 (probably some other exe's are damaged too). Switch to your original exe.

I use the original exe.
Can you make a screen with the original exe?
Thank you!

There are several animations with diffrent ball traveling vectors. You have compared two different vectors in your picture...
Probably to avoid the feeling the ball permeats the net (tho actually it does not, just front of the net is not folding same way as back) 2k decided to make the net that jumps over the rim's level. As we minimezed this option. at some animations we gain a feeling of "permeat the net"

So which .exe should we be using, which is the best one ?
I think the one I got is from Michael Lutz as well, the one where the dribbling animations are sped up. I bought the game so I have the original .exe as well, but I like Lutz's quicker dribbling and layup animations, don't want to lose that.
So exrixxx, I guess it's impossible to make the net move super realistically right ??
from what I see 2K made it so the net only moves up and down, never sideways, and so you modders are limited to only being able to adjust the speed and vertical distance of net movement, you can't adjust the horizontal movement right ???
by this what I mean the net moving sideways horizontally past the circle cylinder, like for example if someone hits a long range 3 the net would move all the way sideways, something like this in the pictures below.... and this is even more so in certain arenas that use super long nets like for example the Raptors Rogers Arena, their nets are the longest of any NBA arena that I have seen, was actually at a Raptors game in January and sat 9th row right behind the visitors bench....
here for example look at this picture here, and look at the video clip below closeup at 1:31 you see from the 3 pointer the net move outside and even wrap itself back around the top of the rim for a split second

The animation of the net only works from top to bottom and never from the side.
I understood: the animation of the network only works from the top down and never sideways.
It 's more a bug in the implementation of physical force or used by 2k rather than a failure of the modder
It 'correct?

Cmon, here is written in the first post how to midify your own gamadata.iff file.
If I make no icons version, than another hundred of players wil complain about tight jerseys, missing accessories or dancers...

I never went deeper to gamedata.iff except for the net stuff.
I will try to look sometime later how these icons have to be removed (if this will not take too much time)

Hi exrxixxx, how can I make your net bright white like the other net mods?

Net color is is not an object of this mod.
Net color is graphical issue.
I do not draw any of net model in graphic editor.
There are several net models already drawn.
Collect variours gamedata.iff files.
Open gamedata.iff file with " 3DM NBA 2K MOD TOOL", search for picture of the net (two pictures - home and away).
Import/export net textures from/to the file.

Can you make longer net without making jersey shrink? like this
Sun Mar 24, 2013 3:10 am
^ that would be unrealistic, well if you put them in all arenas in would.... only a few arenas have super long nets like you show in the picture there, and the Rogers Centre Raptors arena does have the long ones. That's where that picture is taken there..... but like I said there's only like 3 or 4 teams using very long nets in the league, everyone else is using normal type nets....
I'm personally wondering if we'll ever see NBA Live 10 rims and nets, they were the best looking rim/net package of any nba game to this day.... a lot of people actually like the fact that the ring is so thick, it just look and feels so much better than a super thin one

Sun Mar 24, 2013 3:12 am
yeah, but the rim and net physic sucked
Sun Mar 24, 2013 3:17 am
^ ya i remember the net barely moved, it was super stiff... the opposite of default 2K which would move too much
the 3d model of the rim looks real good though, the orange color is nice too

It's the Air Canada Centre not Rogers. And that live 10 mesh and rim would be amazing in this game. The only thing I didn't like in that game was that he ball was small, and when it went in the rim looked like an ocean compared to the ball. But with 2k proportions it would be better.
Sun Mar 24, 2013 5:14 am
^ yea my bad it is the ACC, I drove past Rogers centre got names mixed up when I went to a Raps/Blazers game in January... sat in 9th row, and I mean I've been a a few other arenas so I know what the normal net size is, but the Raptors home court really does have ridiculously long nets
