Just messing with you guys. It is much easier to do than the old way of doing custom courts, but you do still need to know your way around GIMP/Photoshop. I really can't wait to see what else comes from this.

R4ZoR Awesome tutorial but quick question, what do you use for your floors? I know you have a texture in that but I really liked your Colorado State wood texture but have no idea where you got it from.. any info on that would be awesome.

Love all the courts. I will say that depending on the court the wood texture varies. I think for the most part R4zor uses the same wood texture for every court. I'm sure it's not a big deal for most, I just like to pay attention to all the small details.

Edit:
Is there a way to increase the texture resolution? I notice in game the resolutions are much more pixelated than the regular courts.

How to make black lines on court without projecting them in photoshop/gimp? I mean in the model with lines. Oh, and BTW how to get HD courts? Cause 1024x1024 looks kinda bad.

^ same as above, I am working on the Florida Court and imported it into the game and it so low res, what did I do wrong?

Thanks. Great job mate!

No problem, glad that you're figuring this technique out, great first try.

vnardella5 wrote:nice..razor, can u check out my courts...i just made a thread

Yeah saw that, just fix the fictonal buffaloes court, the baseline wordmarks are too long and need to be resized.

Qballer wrote:oh ok i don't remember them having it they probably removed it on the later ones.
hey man, it's not a request, just thought you'd find it interesting/challenging to do.

Don't worry my man, it's alright, the harder it is, the better it looks lol.

With your hands man with your hands, have a keyboard, a mouse, a pc and a working gimp or photoshop.

Well i use wood lol, but to be honest if you want to get great wood textures, just look up parquet, basketball flooring or wood textures on google so that you can choose whatever you want from there.

It might look like that lol, cause the texture is 1024x1024 and finding an nba related wood texture is hard as hell, but oh well, i'm still searching for the right technique.
And if you want to know it depends on the person himself, cause i can make those textures look crisp.

MeGustaNBA wrote:How to make black lines on court without projecting them in photoshop/gimp? I mean in the model with lines. Oh, and BTW how to get HD courts? Cause 1024x1024 looks kinda bad.

Just bring up the 3 pt line or use one of my given models and just use leftos hex on steroids to color the lines.

Well just as i thought, people are probably importing the concept courts right from the internet onto my psd, it won't work properly, that's why it looks bad, that's why i included so many things for you guys to work on.

R4zoR bud, there is no Florida concept court that I could find, so I did not do that, but I did try and copy and paste the 3 point lines from the Colorado State court since they were perfect. I guess I am confused to how to go about. I created a new document, sized it 1024x1024, I have my own logo, etc, just needed your 3 pt line. I save as DDS, import it, I chose to use the blank model since I am using the lines as part of the base texture. Am I doing something wrong in that process I just mentioned?

Do you want to create this court?

If so i can make one for you, but please show me how your court looks in-game, so i could know what you did wrong.

I think the only thing now is getting better texture resolution. I played on some of the courts including the current kings court and only negative is the textures. Three point arc even is kinda blurry. I ended up switching back to the 2k regular style courts because it looks the best. Looking forward to seeing this method develop and hopefully seeing super crisp HD courts in the future. Big ups again for the discovery, R4zor! (Y)

That is an old Gator court I believe R4zoR, I figured I could do this one super easy with your tutorial but lets just say, I am no R4zoR (; lol

Image

That is the look I am going for, and I do not have a pic anymore but the 3 point lines, lane were blurry/pixelated a little (possibly from using the magic wand to try and cut out the 3 point line from the Colorado court) and itthe lines are blue so idk if that made it worse.

Well i'll try to make the texture 2048x2048, if i'll manage to do that, they will look so much better, but as i said it depends on the creator and the model itself.

Cause you stretched the hell out of that court lol and i see your pc is kinda bad or you're using not using AA, that would fix all those textures up.

AA means anti-aliasing that thing that makes the game look smoother, no edgy textures and etc, it's in the settings.
And if you want, i can create that court for you aswell, for better reference.

No one's perfect man, don't feel so bad about yourself, it's your first try at making something, ahh my advice to you is to use the (NBA)All lines except the 3 point line model included in the model stuff folder and remove the black lines in the paint that you have made, it will look so much better, just don't forget to use leftos hex on steroids tool to make the lines black.

Here is my progress so far R4zoR, everything looks pretty decent, except the lane and 3 pt line. The baseline text is a little blurry/distorted, but I think that is due to the dds size (1024x1024) It will not be crystal clear.

Give me any pointers man, I would love some criticism! LOL
