No, you only can edit the players with the free version. To assign courts and jerseys to a team you need a paid version.

mhm, thx
btw. we need you in your thread :P

Thanks for the update Vl@d.

Hey, guys!

So, i promised to set an approximate public release date. :)
Since there was an awful glitch persisting from Beta to Beta, which corrupted Bank Of Names under several circumstances (thanks to JaoSming for spotting the glitch), it took several (rather many) extra hours to properly fix it. That's why we're delaying a bit.

Anyway, the Tutorials are nearly done (thanks to M@dDog for putting the General Tutorials together and hokupguy for finding XBox 360 disc contents) and the Ordering system is nearly finished.
The untouched points are the tool's icon :) , installer, about box, website and self-made video tutorials (Jao might be a God of Editing, but that is me, who knows every tool's feature and wants to share the info with you ;) ).
I'll do my best to finish everything asap, but the most probable release date is this weekend (not set in stone, though, so it might happen a couple of days later).

About purchasing. This year the total prices will be slightly higher, than previous year, but since you won't need to purchase the whole Developer's license in case you only wish to change jersey colors, i think, this is reasonable.
I mean, this year you can select only those tabs for purchasing, which you will really use (each tab is ~$1-3). But if you wish to edit every aspect of the game and purchase the Guru - the price is still affordable. :)
Please, also note, that RED Modding Center is a completely new tool from REDitor II, so old Interfaces licenses will not work in the new program. Also, MyFriend Panel is now not a Global license, but is activated separately for each separate game type (PC and XBox versions of the same game are the same game type).
If you have purchased an NBA 2K12 license earlier, you will get a somewhat discount. Purchasing PC and XBox 360 Tables together will also provide you with a discount. Not sure about Interfaces discounts yet.
(anyway, exact prices and discounts are not set in stone yet, so i don't publish them)

Transaction options are still the same: PayPal (you can use you relative's or friend's account to make a payment, if you don't have your own), Western Union & MoneyGram (much higher fees, than PayPal, so PayPal is recommended), Yandex.Money & WebMoney (only available for Russia and several other former-USSR countries).

Will keep you updated, guys, with more news about the upcoming release.

Best wishes,
Vlad

Thanks, Jaosming for finding those glitches in the REDitor! Any news on your next stream or tutorial? I know you are in the middle of your graduate school residency, not to rush or bother you but just curious. So any news?

Any chances we get to hope for a PS3 version, since transfering files from one user to another is possible ... using a paid software tho.

I know that the hard part is to brake the encrypting that the games has for PS3, in order to make possible the editing, but giving how this site encompasses many great minds, perhaps such a project could be doable if some work together.

Given how much more joy PC & 360 guys get from this tool, given how long have we (PS3 users) have been missing an editing tool such as this or hex, given how we are as hardcore as anyone, I think that even when we would pay a premium (as we have to pay for the software tool that rehash & resign, as there is none free), Ps3 users would buy it and would worth the development.

Here is to hope for this to happen, it has long been due ... just have "good envy" of you guys ... anyways, huge THANKs and props for all whom contributed to such a marvellous tool.

ffaacc03, I'm a PS3 guy myself, but if you're interested in modding I would highly recommend getting the PC version if you have a strong enough computer (or basically anything with a decent video card because this game isn't too demanding). I have a pretty strong laptop, so what I do is connect it to my tv (42-inch plasma) via HDMI cable and plug in my PS3 controllers using XBox emulator software. Honestly it plays about as well as the PS3 or better if you have a really good computer, plus you get all the mods. I still love the PS3 for playing online with friends, but I'm really glad I got the PC game and this community is great

Is the Black Arm fix in the REDitor?

Re: [Tool/Developer's Blog] Vl@d's Hut

Fri Apr 12, 2013 1:08 pm

black arm fixes need to be done with textures this year, the workaround with the rosters doesnt work this year

As Jao said above no. I have spent hours trying to find a work around like last yr. The work around for black arms are only need for the xbox. And sad to say nothing has been given to us this yr.

Would it be able to be fixed for the Xbox 360 with the textures and why doesn't the workaround work this year?

no, textures cannot be used on the 360 version

it probably doesnt work since there was no lockout for it to need to work like last year.

Also how about the blacktop positions being determined 100% entirely by height. For instance a 6'4 PG and a 6'3 SG cannot seem to play together at their true positions. Or if I was to play Dirk and Dwight on the same team, Dirk would be the center due to being one inch taller. Same with Penny and Jordan. At least that is the case on this roster.

Thanks for the tutorials. My only concern to you or anyone else would be with the shoes and editing custom colors for home and away. My example is in trying to edit the Nike Air Force Max. They got the home color correct but I cannot change the away color to black/white/silver, and it seems to have nothing to do with the iff file at all. I replaced the shoe (1187) in the 2K folder with another iff file that has RGB colors, with no effect in game. But when I change the shoe that is assigned to Barkley in the game, all of a sudden I can see the color changes. From my experience at least, it has nothing to do with the iff file. (N)

Well, this is one of the points in my enormous "Ultimate Editing Software To-Do List". I actually spent several hours back in fall to learn a little about PS3 format. From what i got, it is possible to find a way to decrypt NBA 2K files and make them editable. Maybe there will even be no need in an external rehasher.
But hokupguy is right. The downpoint here is that i'm on my last college semester, so it'll be required for me to put the major focus on studies since next week and till August.
The PS3 encryption is a major point, so very slim chances, it will take place this year. And the next year... you know, PS4 and the new XBox are coming, so we'll see, what will happen to the NBA 2K Series.

Anyway, some news: Ordering System is done. I'm now starting to round things up. Will be trying hard to have the initial release this Sunday. But this is not in stone, so 2-3 days later than Sunday is possible, if studies take too much time.

Vlad, Hokup & John ...

THANKS for your repplies and attention to us ...

As someone pretty important said once, I have a dream ... maybe, given how the new generation of consoles are being heavily marketed as "gaming pcs" and as game developer friendly as one can wish, we get some of that in our favor and hopefully Vlads tool (and many of the ones found in here), can be done much easier ... maybe even extend to art/sound mods.

So, here is to hope for that ...

Again, thanks Vlad and keep it up, not only with this project but also with your college ... your family and the programming world would surely be rejoy with the prospect of such young and talented mind !

Oh man, but one more question, can we have the Rising Stars Challenge players not wear the Elite and Stars jerseys and have them wear their actual home/away jerseys?
For example instead of Damian Lillard wearing the Elite/Stars jerseys, in the REDitor can we make him wear a home/away Portland Trailblazer jersey in the Rising Stars Challenge?
