Let me know if it does! I was searching the forums and some users asked for an update to the gamedata.iff file adding xbox icons to it. There's no need for that with this little app. Hopefully it works!
x360ce is a small application that allows you to fool videogames, making them believe that you're using an Xbox 360 windows controller to play it. In the case of NBA 2K series, this is quite helpful as you'll get the xbox icons in-game (direct passing/switching), in the menus, in the interviews, etc. without having to edit the gamedata.iff file, which allows you have other patches in the file.
InstallationJust download the attached file (I don't know how to upload it to the main downloads page), and unzip it to the main directory of the game (C:\Program Files\2K Sports\NBA 2K13, by default, or wherever you installed it), be sure to put it in the same directory where you have the nba2k13.exe file.
Configuration and Use1.- Make sure your gamepad is connected to your PC. If you have more than one and wish them to be recognized, connect them all.
2.- Open x360ce.exe.
3.- When you open it, a dialogue box will appear telling you to create a new x360ce.ini file. Click Yes.
4.- You'll have another dialogue box pop up, prompting you to guide the program into finding the controller for your gamepad. Select the "Search automatically for settings" option, with the checkbox 'Search the Internet' activated and click Next. The program will search your computer and the internet for the drivers, when it founds them, just click Finish. If you have more than one gamepad connected, you'll see a separate dialogue box for each one.
5.- You should hear a small beep (the one windows makes when you connect a new device to your computer) for each controller configurated correctly.
6.- In the main window, configure your gamepad(s) to match the configuration you want in-game, the axes are quite complicated, so, unless they don't work correctly, try and not meddle with them.
7.- Once you have your gamepad(s) configured, click the 'Save' button below. Now, exit the application and click save in the dialogue box (if it appears).
8.- Run your game normally, from the .exe or from a shortcut. Before it starts, you should hear, once again, the beeping sound from the device connecting.
9.- Play your game, fooling it, as if you had an xbox 360 controller, with icons and all.
You only need to do this configuration once. For the second time and following, just open the game normally and you should hear the beep before it starts. If anyone wants screenshots of the process, I'm happy to comply, but I think it isn't that hard at all to use. Take care and game on!
