Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

I own all NBA 2k games on PC since 2k10. I liked NBA 2k13 as well but then I noticed the impossibility to block or being blocked by the CPU during a Dunk and that ruined my experience with the game, so waited for NBA 2k14 to come out, bought it on the same day, and despite some flaws in the most recent title, I liked it, and I never went back to NBA 2k13 again. But I noticed that some ppl are still playing and enjoying it, so I'd like to ask what aspects of this NBA 2k13 keep the interest for this title alive for you.

I can throw alley oops with the face button controls in 2k13. Overall, i just dig the controls more.
Also, I invested a lot of time in building up my MY Career player, killing it as PG for the Heat.
I have invested considerably more time in building a free agent pool full of cyberfaced, properly rated/tendencied rookie versions of most of the Legends that i can keep at 19 years old until i am ready to "draft", I mean... sign as free agents into my association mode, which I am almost done playing through my own Bill Russel's career against modern players. Its as if the 2013 draft, was 1957, 2014 is 1958, 2015 is 1959, 2016 is 1960 and so on... for me its 1967 right now, and I am going to try to win a title with Wilt after being the Celtics for soooooo long. I will probably start over when I hit the 70's, then the 80's, putting Magic and Bird on the 2013 Lakers and Celtics respectively... and I will probably play that all the way til 1998 and the end of the Jordan run. its a bit of an addiction. Editing draft classes to reflect the actual players is a bit exhausting.

Thanks for your reply. So if I understood well it's not actually the characteristics of this game itself that keep you playing it rather its the time you dedicated to editing and MyCareer.

also, i suck at the shot stick, so i need to play with the face buttons... being a PG with lebron and Wade running the wings... i gotta lob! theres no way to do it with the face buttons on 2k14.

cricnewbye, 2k13 is way better when we talk about gameplay, but its only my thoughts.

I tried 2k14 for a month or so, really tried to get to like it, just didn't work.
I just like the gameplay of 2k13 a lot more, got used to controls, and in 2k14 I never got the hang of the right stick as opposed to 2k13 where I use it a lot, and the alley oop is much easier to perform.
That fact that with a good 3pt shooter in 2k14 you can shoot it all day long, it was really annoying, especially when you're playing my player with a PG and you're wide open all the time, it kills the fun.
When 2k14 got out I was already a couple of seasons in my association with all the 2014 rookies and with a lot of historic players in it, starting with the 1993 draft with adding a couple of players from further history into each seasons draft class. By now I'm in the year 2022 and just finished the "2003" draft with LeBron and Melo (I merged a few weaker classes). So whenever I get the urge to start to play 2k14 I just look at my association that has all the player from '93 in it plus most of the legends from before that year from Jordan, Shaq, Chamberlain, Russell, Big O, Magic, Bird to even the role players from before that class ... well, it's not that easy to walk away from that.
So yeah, I'll be sticking with 2k13 until 2k15 comes out, then, we'll see how it turns out.

I have created my 1951/52 to 1984/85 vintage rosters for NBA2K13 only.
As it would be way too much work converting all the stuff to 2K14, I stay with 2K13.
Meanwhile I figured out how to play MyCareer in retro rosters... so I am happy with 2K13.
