Patching Portraits

Postby bucknutz on Thu Jul 18, 2013 10:16 am

First I have to say THANK YOU to all who put the immense time into this game. It is extremely appreciated. I'm having trouble getting my portraits to show in game. I have followed daninoz's tutorial (thank you for your work), but have no luck. It seems that my portraits are patched into the iff but are not showing in game. I am very sure my portraits are compatible and made correctly. They show up in the mod tool. To make clear I will post my steps in creating the patch.
1.installed MLB Thingy into NBA game folder
2. open patch builder-->select my folder with .png's in it (folder is on desktop)....it installs the mlb2k10.7z file in the folder.
3. I change the directory of the TiT tool to where my portrait.iff and my portrait.cdf are located (desktop again). Also, prior to this I decompress with mod tool
4. I execute the start command, tool runs, completes, and I now have the backup files located in the folder. It also installs a portraits folder which wasn't in the tutorial. The TiT tool creates this and puts all .dds portraits in the folder. I can locate my portraits in this folder as well and open with gimp. So far everything seems fine.
5. I paste the newly modified .iff and .cdf into games folder, overwrite ( I have backups :)) and load the game.
6. I load my roster which is compatible with the correct ID # (as a test I tried to replace Oden 1410, with another portrait)
7. No luck, same portrait as before.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I also finished first year of my association and let the game create a draft class. I started the next season and opened the file with REDitor to find the ID's of the created rookies. I found one to use and tested the TiT tool with the ID from the generated rookie. I tried to install a portrait for the ID, but again no luck. Very frustrating. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

NVM figured it out. For anyone who may have the same issue, all portraits must be 512x512 to work correctly,
