need a tuto for add some tatoo to a player

I guys Can you make a tuto for add a tatoo on a player please ?
I proceed like nba 2k9 juste editing skin texture and replace it in 3dm tool save the iff and replace but ingame tatoo doesn't appear :'(
Somebody have an idea ?
