Saving Players in Free Agency from Draft Class

Postby t-rob on Sun Mar 10, 2013 6:13 pm

Is there a way to save the players that were created in a draft class to Free Agency? So I can assign them to a team for regular game mode?

Not a release or preview; as such, it does not belong in the Releases & Previews section. Moving to Patching Help & Requests.

Sorry I posted it in the wrong place.

So maybe I worded it wrong or maybe I am just not getting any responses cause its not possible.

I just want to add players from a 2013 draft class, example Marcus Smart to Orlando, to teams without having to draft them and sim through a season to get to the draft. I can load the draft class but I cant find anywhere that it asks me if I want to place them on a team or in free agency.

Hey
I was wondering the same thing, may have to wait for REDitor.
Although maybe you can copy them out of draft class an paste into roster using Leftos roster editor? Not sure as I haven't tried that.

I wouldnt know anything about Leftos roster editor or what a REDitor is, I am pretty much as novice as can be when it comes to this stuff, but if you figure it out I would love to know.

Thanks!

there is a way.. but you have to do it manually..
it's much easier in 2K12 cuz you can create .TMM files from Associations but now.. nada..

so with the absence of reditor, we can't copy and paste directly a player from one roster to another using Leftos Editor cuz there is no way to edit player names..
so you have to create a player yourself... enter the correct name (others options are not important cuz it can be edited in Leftos' Editor)..
create an association and load the draft class.. save the association and open it via Leftos' Roster Editor..
to find the draft class pool click "Find & Replace" and add this to the Find column:
PortraitID >= 30000
PlType > 0
then click filter... 80 players will be shown by the editor.. those are the players in the draft class..
to find a your player, deepen your search by adding:
Position1 = X
change "X" to these values: 0 if PG, 1 if SG, 2 if SF, 3 if PF, 4 if C
then compare the Jersey Number, Height, Weight and others from the Editor and the Game to find your player..
when you find him copy his entire row, open your roster file, find your created player (i think PlType is 6 or 5, i forgot) and paste to the created player..
then you're done..

it's a lot of work.. but if you really want it.. then you have to do it or w8 until Reditor is available.. :)

Darth_Jor-El, That is a huge help thanks mate, was not aware that the portrait ID and PlType were the fields I needed to filter on. I had been doing it by birthdate for each individual player!!
