Does MyPlayer age plays a factor in MyCareer?

See because I set my date of birth as 1984. So when I got drafted in, my first season, I am already 28. Does that means my attributes won't improve that much over the next few season? And that I have to retire much earlier too? Does age plays a factor?

As I understand it, yes. Or at least, that's the way it normally works in NBA video games: players peak in their late 20s/early 30s and start to decline around the age of 32 or so, reflecting what generally happens in real life. Because you manually choose to retire in MyCAREER it might be a little different. I'm certainly interested to find out for sure as I gave my player my date of birth, which is also in 1984.

Ok so that's worrying because I'm not sure how high will our stats will become before we have to retire or ratings drop.
