Scale of 1-10
1 is horrible
10 is wonderful
Give reasons for your ratings as well.

A solid 8, gameplay is very good, but the usage of shot stick with lt and without hop step button is non existent, also game seems fairly easy, when it comes to shaking opponents off with all these new moves and finishing even in traffic. It may be sliders' thing, but it seemed that its animations.

After seeing the stuff that's missing from the PC version its lost a few points, there's no excuse for it. Other then that it's pretty good.
Wed Oct 03, 2012 4:04 pm
Right now I give it a 7. It may increase later on.
Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:04 pm
2 - Because of the nudified PC version...
Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:07 pm
9 - Gameplay is actually good.
I dont like the shading though, all the shoes look like there patent leather..
Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:12 pm
*▲$▲P* AlwaysBased, oh shaders... Nothing we can't fix.
Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:13 pm
So far a 8.5. Actually love the shading. Would give them a 10 if they fixed their texture issues and had accurate colors. Improved running styles while dribbling, Made accurate 3D models on stadiums and Player faces. Added more blacktop courts and expanded that game mode. Removed celeb team. Had created players that didn't look like aliens, and upgraded create a player features in general. Game plays very nicely though, great job on that.
And put back pshoes ffs.
Edit: shading lighting is best in blacktop, but i still like it over all the other 2k games, including 2k11.

an 8/10
Minor improvements and new animations should be in a DLC, not a full year's game. Nevertheless, I give it 8 rubber chickens, and that's being generous. A change in shading, a brand new UI and a hip hop mogul making his mark in every facet of the game including the soundtrack doesn't cut it. Seeing as I play the PC version, aka the low tier version, the features like My Team and DLC not being included is like a slap in the face, not to mention the digital download being released much later than expected. The minor details included are also what keep people playing and the modders modding. NBA 2K13 is not a big improvement over its predecessor, but much like a DLC, a DLC that fixes a lot of the issues in 2k12, but of course, 2k13 has its issues too.

Most of my issues with 2k12 are fixed. Missing modes and gimped shit but the gameplay is there and the mods are what I can more about it.

I'd give it a 9/10. Can't say I'm disappointed. Has all the features I used in 2K12 but with more enjoyable gameplay.

Gameplay is good. Would give the game a solid 8. But how they treat us PC users lowers the rating to 5...
Thu Oct 04, 2012 8:02 am
I'll dock it 2 points just because of the missing modes. But the gameplay is all there and is pretty damn great.

i play only Xbox360 demo od NBA 2k13 and i love it. More fluid gameplay, loved right stick dribble with LT shooting modifier. Because in demo you can only see Miami vs OKC, I've seen olny LBJ's signature (cocky) run after bucket and I'm very pleased with amount of little detail they import every year. Blocking and rebounding animations looks improved also, still i have to get used to new control system, but i know that I'm gonna play this next 365 days when i get full game.

9+ from me

8.5 for now... there a few things i dont like in MyCareer mode like: no playvision wtf

,very hard to defend most dribblers on all-star+ difficulty, a bit weird controls in some moments

and shaders...
ps: PC needs more love

I have not given a vote so far. I will wait till I have the patience to learn the controls first before I give it a rating. I dont want my lack of knowledge of the controls be a factor in rating it lower.

Just finished my Rookie regular season in MyCareer mode. I am a 6'5 200lbs PG and was drafted 6th by the Blazers which I loved. I played all 82 games and came off the bench most of the games. My overall rating is 76 right now. Damian Lillard usually gets the Starter role even though my production and rating has been better than him for most of the season. It annoys me when coach puts me in as SG so many times. I want to play PG everytime and make every decision.
Blazers finished 3rd in the West with a 52-30 record. Going to play Denver in the first round now.
I have enjoyed this game more than 2K11 or 2k12. Gameplay is a lot better and the sense of progression is even better. Since I have the PC version, I can only earn SP and it takes a long time to increase your ratings. I think that being 76 overall after my rookie season is a reasonable progression. I started out around 64.
I play 8 minute QTRS and I averaged 17.5 MPG over the season. I average 17.4 pts, 7.4 Assists, 3 Rebs, 2.3 Steals. 49% FG and 41% 3s.
I would give this game a 8.5/10. The things I dislike are the moron logic of the coach who keeps bringing me off the bench and forces me to play SG. The GM conversations dont do shit either. Coach will treat me like shit if I make one silly mistake (like accidentally chuck a full court shot during a productive game) and take away my minutes completely. Also the superteams Lakers, Heat and Thunder are just ridiculous. If these problems werent there then 9.5 but they do exist and probably wont go away till a patch so 8.5/10.

I'd probably give it a solid 8.5-9 as well. As I said on the latest podcast I find I'm having a lot of fun with it and enjoying it a little more than last year, thanks in no small part to the new dribbling controls.

I got it around the 8/10 mark.
From my perspective I have been playing Fifa etc and was getting frustrated at the graphics level. I have never really been "into" basketball and if it wasn't for someone rating this on the Fifa forum I wouldn't have looked into it further. I saw videos and liked what I saw. I didn't think it was for PC so that's why I never bothered until now.
So 1. Im new to the sport (really, I had to learn everything via wiki pages & basketball coach sites while playing this game when I got it a few weeks ago). 2. I'm new to the game/system/game play so without a full manual I had to also look at youtube videos and ask questions.
So from that perspective (not tainted by examples of previous releases) I absolutely love it. I was further sold by the moddable aspect, then finding this site and understanding like Fifa the sliders & rosters side of things, which made me like it even more. Once I flipped to youtube full basketball game videos, I realised how close things were to the reality of it, and after the mods/rosters/sliders ... couldn't ask for more.
Its the only sports type game that I can happily sit through CPU play with the visuals. I notice a few oddities with career (which game doesn't have that?) and I also couldn't go further with marking based on what was taken out for PC (I agree that's just really bad).

(You probably know anyway)
PlayVision
Allows you to force Full PlayVision for All Plays, works with MyCareer as well.

Huge improvement form 2k12, especially the game playing!

I think it's terrific. I don't miss the stuff the PC version is missing, because you don't miss what you've never had.

8 Because they strip most of the exciting new features
