Keeping a positive outlook

Postby Leftos on Wed Oct 03, 2012 5:08 am

It's been a frustrating day. I'm really angry at 2K. Really, really angry. Still, I'm trying to find things to keep my head high.

- Gameplay, animations and controls seem awesome from what I've seen so far.
- Users are reporting that most of the bugs that plagued Association last year are gone, so I should be able to really enjoy it once we get some good rosters out.
- Online probably will suck again this year, so even though I'm angry at 2K for not giving us MyTEAM, it would probably be unplayable. Not that this is an excuse for 2K, this is an excuse for me in order not to feel as bad.
- We'll have modding. Some things are easy (many of the 2K12 tools work with 2K13), some will be hard (new roster format, settings file contains sliders, etc), but if you're either a modder, or a PC user, you're bound to have another exciting year.

If we managed to keep our interest high in 2K12 with Ultimate Base Roster and the rest of the mods, I really believe this is going to be an even better year, after the initial frustration goes away.

It's an interesting, exciting prospect for me. And I'll try to remain positive.

Anyone with me? Besides your frustrations, are there still things letting you keep a positive outlook? What are they? Are you going to stick with the PC version, against 2K's best efforts to push us away from it, and be part of the community once again?

For those of you that already have the game, any little things that have made you smile and that have managed to push away the frustration?

I'm going to stay positive this year because i'm not into playing Online, at all. Plus we have (an even better) Association mode to fill in the gap for MyTEAM. Personally i like the presentation (since i'm a JAY-Z fan) and the drive-ball-upcourt animations that play from time to time. Personally, i will enjoy playing 2k13 this year :0

I'm completely on board with you.
I will however have a very hard time staying positive if it turns out we got screwed in the gameplay department as well...
Also EXTREMELY dissapointed by the delay in DD'd seeing as I don't think I can find a physical copy where I live and besides, the PC version will needleslly cost about 55 USD around these part of the woods.

I do not own a console so it is not as if I have many options.

1 MyPlayer but as many MyCareers as you want.....
you could always just make multiple user profiles though, and swap them out each time you load up.

No VC currency and no 3on3 Blacktop online are HUGE bummers for me....
Opinions are my own.

The game plays great. Even better than the demo. Also the skin texture is pretty nice, I like it. Looks much more realistic.

I'm not really concerned with the missing features. I get 2k for PC for the graphics and the modding, that's it. 2k has never had great online or put in all the features on PC version so I don't get my hopes up for that. I know what the game is going to be, and I enjoy it. All the online stuff I'll be doing on xbox this year. And that is how I balance out my 2k gaming, too many graphic/texture issues on consoles so the only way I can enjoy it with online. PC is for everything else.

If you don't care about online stuff, the game is soo much better this year, you should be fine.
