Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

Remember having one of these last year, and with new info coming out tomorrow on My Player, I got to thinking about how about I want to tackle the mode this year.
So what will your My Player character be this year? Post position, height, weight, play-style, team you hope to go to, or whatever else comes to mind. If you're going to create a player different than usual (from 2k12 or 2k11) post the kind of player you made previously and why you're changing it up.
I'm hoping to make a 6'10'' rebounding mid-range post scorer with a slim build. Essentially the next Kevin Garnett. I feel there's a lack of player's like him in the league today. Wouldn't mind being the future star of the Raptors or bringing new hope to Orlando. But in the end I don't care where I end up as long as I'm not stuck behind a young superstar.
I didn't try MyPlayer in 2k11 but tried a similar build to the one mentioned above in 2k12 initially. I didn't get very far as I got frustrated by watching my AI teammates run plays. Too much standing around burning the shotclock and hucking up terrible shots.
I later switched to a 6'3'' all-around PG who just did everything. I'm now 99 with him in my 5th season looking to repeat as the champs. Averaging about 32-7-10-4-1. I must say if I hadn't switched to my PG build I probably never would have played the mode. Here's hoping that the AI teammate are a little smarter so I can build the dominant KG 2.0 that I've always wanted.
Anyways, your turn.

a 6'9 SG/SF, with T-Mac's play style. Only difference is that I'll get my ring.

a 6'7 do it all triple double machine PG. A combination of both tracy mcgrady and penny hardaway!! yeah baby!!

I'll go with Shooting Guard this year with the height of 6'6 or 6'7. My offense will be based to the G.O.A.T. and from the defensive side i will be LeBron James that almost can guard any position.

I usually start the game by creating myself as a 6'1'' scoring PG and slowly work on his shot and turnover atributes like ball security, passing etc., so I end up with Brandon Jennings's time of game, who I love as a player. Teams, ideally I'd like rebuilding teams, that don't have a strong starting point guard, something like the Hornets or the Timberwolves (since Rubio is out from the beginning). My special skills (we'll see, if we'll be able to pick/earn them) would be floor general, dimer, ankle breaker, shot creator, interceptor.
My 2nd player is always someone, who I base on an international player, that hasn't made it to the NBA yet. I pick this player on a personal preference as well... In 2k12, I was unlucky enough to pick a player, that made it all the way to the Brooklyn Nets, Mirza Teletovic, so I will have to choose another one. This one is never a point guard

Nice idea posting the skills you want. Also I love the idea of the international player. Definitely adds some immersion to it I bet. You could always play create a legend mode with Mirza, although I'm not sure if everything is the exact same between MyPlayer and CaL.
For my KG 2.0 I'd hope to get Post Proficiency, Eraser, Hustle Points, Posterizer and then either Break Starter or Post Playmaker or Defensive Anchor. I think it kind of depends on the team I'm playing for. No point in equipping Break Starter if I'm playing for a low tempo team. Defensive anchor is what I'm leaning towards.

It's not the same, in CaL you miss out on the interviews and I love to play that draft showcase game at the beginning and even though I knew, I couldn't become a top pick in 2k12, it was still kinda exciting.

I had the exact same experience.
I didn't play MyPlayer much in 2k11, when i did i was a 6'9" SF all-rounder. I got turned off by the fact that i had to play every single game in the season (would rather just sim) and stopped playing it.
Then in 2k12 they introduced just playing "key games" so i gave it another crack. Started off with an athletic SG, then decided to start again with a defensive 7'2" center. But like you volsey, i got sick of playing off-ball to my teammates shitty play-running and decided to start a whole new one again as a scoring PG/SG type, so that i could create the offense rather than finish it. This time it was actually pretty fun. My guy got to 82 overall and is dominant. But i got frustrated by how much little happens in the offseason. After playoffs it just goes straight to the start of next season. It made the mode feel meaningless to me, and 2k13 is out in a month, so i figure rather than invest more time into 2k12 myplayer, i'll just wait. In 2k13 i'll create another PG/SG dynamic combo guard type and really see what that mode has to offer.

5'8 all-around/scorer PG (with ankle breaker, microwave, finisher fss skills) just like me or a dream PG like 6'3 height, ripped all-around but atletic abilities'll boosted, having floor general, posterizer, acrobat, lockdown defender and finisher skills...

Yea it definitely feels like an empty mode at times. I tried fooling around last night with another bigman in my player, and you know what with the Auto Run plays setting off, it's almost bearable. Still little in terms of real ball movement, but I can set a pick, there's the occasional off-ball screen, and I can post up from time to time.
But then I remembered the other thing I absolutely cannot stand. Rebounding and post position is turrible. Players still teleport to rebounds, even when you are in between them and the basket in the box out animation. Offensive rebounds are nearly impossible to get into position for as every time you get into a place where you can box out your man, a magic animation happens where they do a spin and switch places, making all that work getting there useless and meaningless. In the stupid amount of hours I've played this game, I have only ever seen one over the back call on the CPU while I was on offense. In other words legitimately being an offensive board player is impossible and comes down to luck. This was probably just as frustrating as watching my players run the offense, and the main other reason the actual gameplay in My Player is broken for big men. End of rant.
OOoo I've noticed for a long time, but anyone ever notice how the CPU players knows immediately after a shot is released whether it goes in or not? As in a 3 point shot is released and they know instantly that it's going in so they let you get to the basket rather than boxing you out. Vs if they instantly know it's not going in you'd get boxed out. I guess in the end it makes little difference, but definitely is disappointing sometimes when I fight for position, get around my man only to find out the shot was going in the whole time, and the only reason I got in position is cause they let me. Jerks.

like in previous years i will be a point standing 6'5" who can shoot the lights out. i will slowly work on my all around game from there

Nothing because I can't stand the created player models. Hope you all enjoy basically having the same looking face for your myplayers.

In the past I've given being a 6'3" all-around guard a shot, but that's left certain ratings harshly low out of the gate and been a bit frustrating at times. As such, I think I might try being a big this time around.

Judging by the amount of people who play and enjoy My Player, I'd say most people will be able to get around it. It's a shame it isn't improved, but if the gaming experience of the mode is up to scratch in terms of the gameplay and off-the-court stuff, that's ample distraction from the limitations of the created faces.

My aim for 2K13(PC version) will be to improve the generic/cap faces in some way.

Same here. Only difference is, my PG will be 6'3.

For 2K10 and 2K11 I was Rick Daniel, a 6'2", 215 lb point guard. For 2K12, I was talking into making a bigman, so was born Bud Daniel, a 6'9", 255 lb power forward. Their careers were chronicled on my old
AlphaSports blog. I've
updated the blog and my My Player this year will be posted there. Who will it be? Well, with the added dribbling controls, Rick Daniel is getting the call again. I missed playing the point anyway. How he'll play is anyone's guess.

In 2K11 my main guy was a 7'2" back-to-the-basket centre, and had to really work to improve.
In 2K11 I also went with a 6'9" slashing SF. That was the easiest player to advance.
In 2K12 I decided to go with the "what if" direction, and like tan2wing I liked the trip-dub threat of a long PG, and like imaiden wanted a "real" guy. I got into making Dejan Bodiroga and struggled with a weak shot. I also made an Andrew Vlahov with the intentions of being a LeBron stopper. That failed miserably because he was so damn slow.
For 2K13 I have plans for a 3pt shooting PG, a la Shane Heal.
