IRB Gamer’s Hands-On Impressions of NBA 2K13

2K Sports was in attendance at the GameStop Expo with NBA 2K13. In the demo was the most awesome fantasy game that could ever be imagined, the 1992 Dream Team vs. 2012 Dream Team. Yes, the inevitable matchup most NBA diehards can’t wait to play themselves was put to work in the 2k booths.

Positives:

- Control Stick concept
- Animations
- Fluidity on defense
- Control responsiveness

Negatives:

- Online support doesn't sound promising

Short preview, but he sounded impressed with what he saw. We've hit the final stretch. Just over 4 weeks to go.

It would be very awesome if the demo was what that guy had with the dream teams.

I'm guessing there's a pretty good chance that those teams will be in the demo. I'd say it's between them or Heat/Thunder...or if they really wanted to be kind while we wait for the game to drop, all four will be in the demo. If they're only going to give us one quarter and strip out the commentary as they usually do, it'd be nice if they could at least give us that.

Even though I'm completely sick of the Thunder and Heat it would be nice to have 4 teams in the demo, since they only give one five minute quarter like you said. The whole one quarter thing is stupid too. They should do like madden and do a whole game with 5 minute quarters.

Agreed. Even a half with five minute quarters or one 12 minute quarter would be nice.
