NBA 2k13 Wishlist

I tried to find a topic about this but I couldn't find one. Just list the features you would like, or the issues you would like fixed. I'm an Offline player that plays on locked positions. I'm sure someone will add their wants for online.

-A new dunk, and layup system that lets you pick different moves from a list of all the moves in the game.I hate seeing players(MJ) do moves he never did in a game, or only in dunk contests.

-A revamped rebounding system, timing your rebounds are not to hard, but a lot of times the cpu will get rebounds it had no business having a chance of getting. With the right timing, and player I would like to see old-school 40+ rebound games.

-Better on-ball defensive pressure, there is nothing worse then playing smothering D on a player for 21 seconds only for them to just slide around you as they begin some stupid animation to the rim.

-CAP awareness, if my CAP is the star of the team, or league leader in some category, I would like it to be mentioned during game breaks. Also please fix the all-star starting glitch, I have lead in all star votes every year my player was in the league only to end up on the bench with 10 minutes of playtime.

-Better team AI, the CPU is a bit predictable, but okay, the team AI on the other hand is bad. Too many times I find my teammates doing nothing, no cuts, no boxing out, half the time they don't even take open shoots.

-More jumpshot customization, This isn't a must, but I would love to see something that would let me choose more things on your shot like release points, arc on shots, ect.

There have been similar threads in the NBA 2K12 section following last year's release, but well worth discussing here too.

My wish maybe it's stupid but I think teams should be sorted by city name not by team name.

Other things
1) Upgrade My Player mode especially system of get/lose points
2)Try to make better moving control

Haha ^^^^^^^^^ was one of my biggest pet peeves when switching over from Live to 2K.

Better AI is the biggest thing for me this year
I want to be double teamed when hot, or for the CPU to take advantage of mismatches in the post, pick up the pace a little when behind or be more aggressive when necessary. All those pick and roll defensive options which I was so excited for in 2k12 are pretty much useless as even when given an opening, the CPU often does not take advantage of them as they are running a set play. I'd just like the game to be more strategic and dynamic, a tall order for any game.

Better foul logic and animations
I'm tired of the same animations regardless of whether it was a foul or not, often there's a bunch of contact and no foul, and then right back the other way barely anything and a foul. I'd also like to see the CPU adjust it's aggressiveness on D depending on the foul situation. Durant with 3 fouls in the 3rd should definitely be a little most hesitant on D.

Improve Association and MyPlayer
Association has been the same for a couple years, make it more immersive. My Player has tremendous potential and definitely feels empty after your first season. Still love both of them though.

1.) Fix that stupid thing that happens when you shoot three pointers, and all of a sudden your shot base is like some generic basic thing. It totally throws me off.. And some shot bases aren't even effective behind the arc... Ugh.

2.) I'm a big signature moves nerd, and I honestly loved 2K11's signature moves better. Not specifically the create a shot system, but the other moves. It seemed much more fluid in 2K11...

3.) Since this is a wishlist... Add either retro sonics jerseys for the thunder, or add the legit Sonics team with Sugar Ray, Rashard, and all of them.

4.) 2KShare could use some kind of an upgrade.. It'd be cool to see that evolve.

Definitely not the most crucial change they need to make but I'm with you on that one. Maybe it's just because I'm used to that sorting method from NBA Live, but it does feel more organised that way.

actually after ~4 years of 2K, Live's method seems weird now. Either way, a choice of how to sort the teams by name/city/division/conference would be cool

I guess it's just what you become used to. A toggle option does sound like the best solution.

Yeah I'm very well used to 2K's format now, even though Live's is a better system.

One and only wish - playable multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer should be lagfree. It should be possible to find players who are geographically nearby, so that the ping/latency rating would be as low as possible. And I'm talking about the PC version of course.

Or just give ability to play with friends using custom sliders,settings, rosters. Also high quality settings if your setup handle it on 60 fps.

Reasonable netcode, that you could play lag-free on <60 ping as well and i'd be happy with it

Online mode they give to pc users this year is a disgrace.

Improve gameplay;
Fix last year bugs;
Improve a lot Association (if we could trade players for money, like lamar odom for dallas last year, for example) (better generic rookies);
Improve crowds (still waiting for them to shout "three" when a home player shot's a 3pt);

Association mode has to include new CBA provisions, "stretch", poison pill. Hopefully it can incorporate harsher reality of luxury tax.

I think a few probably will. It obviously wasn't going to happen last year with the lockout, even if the season had started on time it probably wouldn't have been feasible, but I'm guessing we'll see at least some of those new provisions represented this year.

Hope 2K finally enable in PC version self shadowing, lighting, etc. graphic effects like the console versions have in 2k11, 2k12 (in 2k13 it will be for sure on consoles). Two consecutive years, for some reason PC version was out of this

I forgot about one thing. One version for whole world, not European version, US version etc. One for everybody.

That would be ideal, but if it's a licensing issue as it supposedly is, then their hands are tied.

A couple things...

Draft and the CPU trades

Trades in 2k12 were stupid, in fact 2k11 had a better trades AI....
I.e in 2k11: Utah Jazz traded me (a 48avg rookie) for C.J Watson (69avg player) or Bogans, or picks...that's a decent trade.
Now in 2k12: Utah Jazz traded me (65avg rookie) + some other crap player for Noah and Deng? or Bucks traded me (again a 65avg player again) + Delfino for D. Rose....that is beyond stupid.

The draft...for the love of god the draft....allow ppl to get drafted 1st - 5th over players that actually get drafted 1st (ok you can make it extremely hard to achieve) and don't put that stupid low cap as you did with 2k12...let your player go undrafted or into the 2nd round.

No matter how much you sucked in the Rookie matchup, the lowest you could fall was 26th with Dallas.
And I mean suck...once I made 40 turnovers, F grade, 0 points, 0 rebs and fouled out, still Dallas drafted me...

If you mix both problems, the bad trade AI and the low cap on the draft, made playing for some teams impossible without using Cheatengine or other editors. No matter how badly you tanked the rookie showcase you coudn't fall to picks 28 or 30 or the 2nd round....and if you request a trade after 5 games, you destroyed the roster since the CPU would trade D. Rose, Manu Ginobili or Lebron for you + some other ramdom player.

Finally let me have at least one interview with a team I choose, and make those answers matter.
If I'm a lottery pick and I tell all the teams I don't want to play for them, that I don't like the city/roster and I will leave as soon as my rookie contract ends....but I tell the Bulls (29th pick) that I want to play for them, that I don't mind not being in the lottery, that I will stay with them long them, bla bla bla...make other teams least interested in drafting me.

Coaches AI and awareness

Make coaches and GMs use their brains with the roster and how the current game/series is developing.
No coach uses their star player 40mins a game if they are winning by a lot, and no coach uses a starter who had a crap game (0/10fg) in a cluch situation just because he is a starter (when the sub is having a 5/5 3pt off the bench)

- If im a bench rookie, and we are winning by 30 at the 3rd, coach should play you and the other bench guys (garbage time)
- Also if im a bench rookie, but had a 28pts game single handely bringing my team back form a 15pts gap, and the starter in my position is having a horrible game, I should play the cluch, not him (usually ends with a loss...)
- Finaly when i'm the undisputed star of my team I should get some rest in easy wins (that the other starters get but not you!!!!). If it's midways in the 3rd and I'm winning by 30+ you should sit till the endgame, not keep on playing you + 4 bench guys (because you have 42min in the rotation)

My Player:
+ Improve Teammates: They literally suck that they can only score when I'm on PRO difficulty
+ Improve TRADE Intelligence: After the patch, my team did not make any trades anymore nor sign up rookies. It sucks
+ Better "Start": the Rookie showcase is garbage. Hope you can get like 5 games from your College team, etc, etc.
+ Better sliders: Default is not that good, it's really unbalanced in my opinon!

Gameplay:
+Better shots
+ More effective isomotion: I danced like a retard. Unlike on 2k11, it's possible to ankle break them
+ More and better animations
+ Realistic block animation
+ better and balanced AI
+ Better coach.

Graphics:
+ Step it up a little bit.
+Realistic CF
+ Realistic Courts
+ Better generic CF, more variety

Couldn't hurt, but at this point the game is going to be mostly finished. They might be able to make some minor adjustments here and there, perhaps try to catch any bugs they were unaware of, but anything major will have to wait until NBA 2K14.
