Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

We can play online with one another using Xfire, waiting until next week when they add 2k13 to the database...then we can select friend matches....

ill give it a 7, gameplay is pretty good but lack of myteam, dlc etc..kinda lower its rating. Also grahpics lighting is alot better than last years, but the textures quality sure took a hit with all these new features (beard, hair, tattoos looks very blurry )

I just played one game till half-time and the NUMBER 1 thing I love so far.......you can quickly skip through the cutscenes. No more button mashing waiting for that shit to go off your screen so u can begin playing the damn game again.

I know exactly what you mean. Good to hear, looking forward to that.

Nick wrote:They need make player progression less based on their potential rating and more based on opportunistic factors like playing time/experience (to improve) and injuries (to bust). not to say that the potential rating shouldn't matter. It should. But it should matter less, and there should be more of a "farming" factor. I.e. a rookie that gets starting minutes will improve quicker than a player that is stuck at the bottom of a stacked roster.
They had that in 2K10 and still didn't help. Not just for rookies, all players.
Problem is starters or players with more minutes improve faster than those with less minutes but players with lack of playing time still improve at their normal pace dictated by their potential rating. There's no 'development hit/slow down' to the bench players, they still keep improving at the pace dictated by their potential while those given minutes improve at a faster pace along with what they have in their potential rating.

You are not restricted to one MyPlayer. There is an option that most of you did not notice when editing your myplayer. It sais "change myplayer." I haven't tried it, but since you can have more than one mycareer, I'm sure you can have more than one myplayer.

Man went to check out the shoes immediately after installing the game, then to my surprise just like the others. there is no freaking way to edit the home/away colors of the shoes because you can only assign shoes in the features option. Thanks 2K!

All this is does is take you to the templates screen, it's still the same MyProfile.
What I haven't done is see how changing the name/appearance/etc through the edit screen affects saved MyCAREER's. (EDIT: It changes your player to match.)

I wish you could do this for the damn MyPlayer interview and Draft.

Anyone else notice there's even a "flop" function?
While holding charge, release it and then quickly hold it again and your dude will flop. Nice touch! I wonder if they'll include getting fines for obvious flops in 2k14.Lamrock wrote:- The soundtrack caught me off guard with a lot of songs I like but don't really fit the basketball mood. I actually had Around The World and a couple of Justice songs on my custom arena music from last year, but Stillness Is The Move still baffles me whenever it comes on. For my taste, it's at least the best soundtrack since 2K10's though.
Still Is the Move is the only track that really peaked my interest haha. I've already turned the menu music off, and i've had the game for almost 2 days.

You can tap charge twice and they will flop.
What does everyone think about isomotion being on both sticks? Especially the fatigue drains? I didn't like it so I switched back to the old scheme. I kept forgetting to press the left trigger when transitioning from a dribble move to a shot.

Just noticed one more thing that is no longer an issue, which was evident in all previous nba 2k titles on PC -> I was running the fast break with Chalmers and at the centre of the court I made a pass to Wade who at that point was running more to the right corner then to the basket, but still I managed to turn quickly to the paint for a dunk, while the defender did not manage to catch me. This was basically impossible in 2k12 where even if you managed to turn away from the corner and go to the basket the defender (no matter how far he was from you at the point of receiving the pass) managed to get in front you.
Same thing goes with PG running the break if the situation calls for it, instead of calling for the ball no matter what. Seems so natural right now!
..and online works on high graphic settings flawlessly!

Moreover both games that I was able to connect to where against non-cheesers! Game looks like a masterpiece when its played the right way!

I've converted to the shot button. It works quite well actually.

Had a quick game or two. I wonder if I'm the only one, but I had more fun playing the demo. Don't get me wrong, gameplay seems pretty solid, just had more fun on demo. I'm guessing they did some game balance adjustments, toned down some controls & speed & this is the result. Just seems more bland than demo. Don't know why. I might just be crazy.
Scoring is easier than previous years. Guess I need to get a good set of sliders etc before I launch into Association.
Speaking of Association, I quickly checked it out & looks virtually identical to previous years. Hopefully it's not broken under the hood & if so, I can forgive them for not adding more to mode.

demo was more fun, but then again, sliders

Yeah. On pro, the points in the paint are pretty high, as well as the fg%.

Even on all star fg% is too high, but its all about the sliders so its not an issue

I noticed a cool thing on a replay - when Blake Griffin dunked the Nike+ watermark was part of the replay and vertical height of the jump was shown
I semi-solved the replay bug issue. From my experience the replay works for 6-7 plays and then its done, however I now managed to get a way to restart the working count if I can say so. Basically as soon as I experience first broken up replay, I go into replay option and save whatever the last play is recorded using name of the replay which comes by default (replay1). After doing so I get the same 6-7 replays going unbroken/uninterrupted, but maybe its just random luck.. (worked 3 times in a row..same game).

Nick wrote:PC Impressions:
- Player 'abilities' taken away. Post hook and post fade away back into 'attributes'.
- New tendencies i noticed: 'Crash' - player tendencies to fall to the ground when shooting in heavy traffic. Apart from that it looks the same.
- Why the hell is Kanye West's "Amazing" in the game soundtrack? Wasn't it already in 2k11 or 2k10 or something? Auto-tune. Ugh.
- Looks like there's some new animation categories in the post. Why not.
- Coldplay's in the soundtrack? Weird choice lol. I feel like i'm listening to some typical mainstream radio station at the moment.
- The new dunk packages is a great new addition, as is the fact that you can choose the pre-game animations. It's small but i love stuff like that.
- Jay-Z's beats not impressing me so far. Where da funk at?
- And 'Amazing' is playing again after playing playing about 2 or 3 songs ago. Good lord.
- PET PEEVE ALERT: When you scoll through the teams to play an exhibition game, it shows you the sponsors (addidas & NBA) before it shows you the team's ranking in OVR, OFF and DEF. EEEeeeeeerrrrrggggghhhh!! It's only small but it's annoying.
- Not feeling the intro videos. They bouncey flaming basketballs aren't impressing me.
- Players look better in the menus than they do in the game. Overall the in-game graphics look the same as 2k12 to me.
- Instantly feels like 2k12, except slower. Not a bad thing. Physics seem a bit more realistic.
- I'm LOVING the defense! Contesting shots feels better, and blocking is really good. Bogut just blocked the shit out of me in emphatic fashion. YES!
- Driving the basket feels and looks great. Both when i'm doing it, and when the CPU is doing it. YES!
- "Shot feedback" is really detailed. Don't know if that's necessary but hey why not.
- I'm gonna have to watch some of Da_Czar's videos this year to understand what the hell i should be doing haha.
- Pass responsiveness is too slow for me. I want them to pass the ball as soon as i hit the button. It's more fun to create plays and react quickly in the moment. Currently when you push pass the sort of wind up and THEN pass. Same as last year. Oh well.
- I'm getting absolutely smashed in my first game lol. I missed almost every shot in the 2nd quarter and my own crowd started booing. Pretty cool.
- You've really gotta box out.
- The dunk intensity meter is kinda stupid.
- In-game replays seem to cut out early.
- Charges are back! WOO!
Overall, the game is good. In fact it's great. No doubt 2k have plateaued though. Shelf-life will not be long for 2k13, unless MyTeam is really fun. OH WAIT, they didn't include that. Oh well, i guess i'll just focus on collecting Virtual Curren--OH WAIT they didn't include that either. Ah well, i'll just have some fun in the dunk cont-OH FUCK IT
I'll post further impressions as they come. I haven't played any game modes yet.
so true ) : but on my pc players look better on low settings idk i need a faster pc lol

music is absolutely terrible
those video clips of rap videos is so corny i cant believe its in a game called "2k13", its so tacky it makes this game look vintage.
gameplay is a little slower but i gotta get used to it.
still dont love the buttons but that takes gettin use to.
its so stupid how u cant change the shoes through the edit player menu, yet it says "gear/shoes".. the fuck, i thought my game was buggy for a minute and almost reinstalled.. come to find out u gotta go through a couple separate menus just to assign shoes. wow
its just a bunch of minor things but seriously no one wants to hear Rhianna while playin 2k.. i dnt wanna play this game and listen to corny hip hop radio songs.

About the price: I'd rather pay twice the price for a great game than less for a good or mediocre game. NBA 2k isn't just a game I play for two months and that's it but for a year so I'm not satisfied with the PC version. A great game will always be great and a "only good" game just good regardless of the price.

Old. They've had that too since 2K10.

Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that has thought this. I'm looking for exaggerated sim feel & like to see fastbreaks being able to be run.
I guess I'll have to mess around with sliders a bit, just wish I didn't have to as much adjustments as I'll probably need to.
Might re-install demo this weekend & play it again to get a feel of where game needs to be.
