Talk about NBA 2K13 here.

lmfao @Leftos.
Tbch, I'm pretty sad that they are not giving the ASW for PCs. It was one of the best features ever. So, if we take a look at it like that, no new game modes for PC in 2k13?

I guess it's possible, it depends if they've added anything new to the base game. There's still a lot to learn about what they've done this year.

Wii U version confirmed.

I believe that no one really did not expect some sort of "planetary" Changes in 2k13 compared to 2K12...
to put it mildly ... further enhance the gameplay (AI is a bit smarter), throw a "bone" players - dunk contest or something ... where is the progress in the My Player? Where is the improvement association? - Actually, do they realize at least 2-3 wishes from fans who are "sincere" thanks?

I got a baaaad feeling about the stuff we get from both 2K and EA.
I don't know, as far as I seen the previews or the news or the main features, the game features without fancy word play would be like this:
NBA (Dead or A)Live 12 or 2K12 (whatever..)
It's gonna be huge bla bla bla. It's gonna be released on consoles and sh*t, PC's version gonna be like Nintendo 64s Mario Party on a emulator with a lot of glithces...
Main features (actually don't read this stuff)
- We added a lot of nothing
- Old dribbling (actually nothing and more bugs) system
- Unrealistic movement
- More bugs
- Oh, yeah, we changed presentation, so it looks like a new game
- And, of course, we left the whole buggyland of Online games!
So buy this crap, because i don't have money to buy a new Hummer.

Kinda looks like they spent more time changing the scoreboard then enhancing the game play, got some time before release to get to that... I guess.

If you've read OS' opinion on Live it sounds pretty awful

Well, we're about 4 months away from the release, so most of the development cycle has already passed.
I'm not completely buying the "take it easy, it's an early build" talk. By now they should know precisely what kind of improvements they want to do for 2K13 and those things should be somewhat noticeable even in an early build. From what we saw in that short video, not only they didn't change anything except for the scoreboard, they haven't even fixed the problems such as the speed glitch or undefeatable animations.
With Live very unlikely for the PC, looks like we'll be stuck with 2K again. I'll gladly be proven wrong, but right now 2K13 is looking pretty bad.

OS are historically anti-Live and pro-2K, so there is some bias to take into account.

I don't think bias applies in this case. The beefs he had with what they showed him were pretty subjective. Anyway, this is the 2K13 topic, let's get this back on track.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels like this.

Don't you mean objective? If they're subjective, then bias would be an issue.

Anyway, what we've seen from both Live and 2K so far have been described as very early builds, presumably not indicative of what's currently being worked on right now in the studios. I'm prepared to take that at face value and see what comes along over the next couple of months, from more complete builds. First impressions are important but when they're of a work in progress, I'm willing to give them both the benefit of the doubt for the moment.

i have to say i agree, i have been pretty hard on the other game since seeing it and reading about it, but what 2k showed hasnt impressed me to say the least. looks smoother, but player models and faces are identical to last year, courts and stadiums are still wrong, very disappointing to see say the least.... but i applaud them for have the guts to show video they havent bragged about and actually come to os threads and answer question, while the devs for the other game is still a no show

Different developers, different PR policies. We hope to have some more insight on NBA Live 13 soon but I'll leave that for the NBA Live 13 section.

Some things are outside their control, some arenas aren't included in the NBA licensing (Boston's TD Garden for one) but that's also stuff that I expect they'll do later on, after they're done with gameplay and game modes; the minor texture updates and the like.

Just like Slam Guitar Contest because is more easyer to dunk than in 2k10 and 2k11

well, there is a reason for it, scoring is based on the user's timing, and
While some might find the implementation trivial, or a souped-up Quicktime event, bear in mind just how freaking hard the Blacktop Dunk Contest is with the analog stick. I can barely get the gather correct. People who get to All-Star Weekend in their careers or invite friends over to fool around with it aren't going to want to spend forever on tutorials. Some might feel it's a little simple, but I buy the logic behind the design choice.

Chris Manning (@LD2k) reported a bit earlier that a dev told him that they found out what caused Manu to go through the defense like that, and that it's now fixed.
I'll keep my comments to myself for now. I'll wait for yours first.
UPDATE #1: @Da_Czar reports: "Ronnie just said they have Jordan for a few more years but this year they want to grow past legends and concentrate on the current players."

Not surprising. It made a huge impact in NBA 2K11 because it was the best thing they'd done with Michael Jordan in a video game. It made sense last year with the lockout throwing a spanner in the works and NBA's Greatest was a lot of fun. It's great that they'll retain that historical content but with the labor dispute settled for now, it's easier to focus on the contemporary product and absolutely the right way to go.

From the horse's (Mike Wang) mouth, at OS:
any work being done to isomotion? it was kinda clunky..im hoping for more fluid, fast and explosive crossovers
I've personally hated isomotion for years. Fixing it has been my primary objective for 13.
The up and unders (aka flick flicks) are now interruptible. So if you read it properly you can force the "under" into contact.
