Removing a player's gear

Ive been trying to get rid of kirk hinrich's shades for a cyberface I'm working on in blender, but every time I import the headshape w/out the shades in the 3dm mod tool, the shades are still there. how do I remove them? i'm still learning how to mod and patch

select the glasses
scale down so they are very small
move the glasses inside his head

you cannot remove anything from the headshape models, but you can "hide" them like that. Just make sure you are editing it in edit mode in blender.
