Creating classic teams

So i'm interested in creating classic nba teams in 2k13, but there are certain things I can't figure out.

Like, say for instance I wanted to create the 1978 Washington Bullets. I'd want to do a bunch of things ideally. I'd need to be able to create the team info, create players on it, and set the team rotation/playbooks/etc. These are all things I can do without any mods.

However, i'd need mods in order to do the rest, which includes [but not limited to] changing the uniform logo, changing the court logo, changing the crowd/stadium so it looks like that decade, making the shorts shorter, changing what the announcer calls it, etc....

I know some people have already created custom teams already, so I know this is possible. Can someone point me in the right direction for how to do it myself? [I have experience using some of the tools, like 3dm and the mod tool, btw]

Just to add more info. I think I know how to overrite a jersey/court texture file with the 3dm tool. What I can't figure out is how to link a created team to that jersey or that court, among other things.
