Is it possible to try to fix the the replay engine?

I was comparing both nba2k12.exe and nba2k13.exe files just to try to understand if it's possible to fix the replay bug. It seems that the replay system from the two versions are not that different.

I'm no hex guru or patcher. So, I would like to request for the great patchers of the community to see if it's possible to fix it and, if yes, to write a tutorial explaining how to do it!
