NBA is a business - everybody knows that. From an NBA player's career perspective, social media is a marketing tool. I think it's cool they added it to the game.

I like that "fans" is now a loose number rather than a number between 1 and 100.

Playing dress-up, tweets, handstand pre-game rituals.. man this game has become far too cheesy... and I really hope they put out news about association..

I think this makes the game more realistic. If you notice all throughout sports and the NBA players all on the Internet twitter, facebook....If you look at the Media who talks about the NBA be it Espn, NBATV, or during the games you see them putting up tweets from fans, players, coaches...so seeing that gameplay is not being neglected it just hasn't came out yet I don't see how we say this is cheesy or not realistic. To me it sets the atmosphere of feeling like your really in the nba being talked about.

homicide1550, again, those features are in there to increase immersion. It's not cheesiness, since it's part of every player's life either way.

And just like real-life players, some don't care about their attire too much, some ignore social media, some don't even have a pre-game ritual. You'll be able to ignore them as well. It's not like the game is forcing any of those features on you, or that it'll penalize you if you don't use them.

JaoSming, LD2k tweeted about how they're not expecting the MyCareer video to be green-lighted by everyone by "tomorrow" (at the time), so... soon.

Yes, 2K seems to be releasing information that does not pertain to your taste, and seems to be improving on factors of lesser importance, that yet would improve the immersion of the mode.

Everyone agrees that for the mode to be enjoyable it needs to have decent gameplay and options, besides the off-the-court immersion. But the calls for things to do outside of games have been pretty loud, they're really easy to implement, so why not do them?

The fact that they're showing us all this doesn't mean that they haven't improved teammate AI or whatever else you want to see improved. They're still ONLY showing screenshots, so changes like these are easy to show and promote through a single screen. Most of the things you're asking for require a developer diary and/or video, not screenshots.

Just wait until Friday. No need to overreact like this every time after a screenshot is released. I'm pretty sure Ronnie and 2K know what the real priorities of an enjoyable mode are, and they might have just as well worked on them, or not. There are positive signs already, including the alleged fix of the speed issue that plagues NBA 2K, so maybe they've heard all the complaints about teammate AI and everything else as well, and worked on them.

There is a point in giving players things to do off-the-court. A player's life involves off-the-court stuff as well, no matter the main objective of winning a championship. You're acting as if they've completely forgotten about that, before even reading the dev diary or even getting your hands on the game and playing the mode.

It's not pointless just because you say so. Even I'm not impressed by what I've seen so far, but I understand why they did those additions. I've heard people asking for them all too many times.

Again, and to summarize, just because they're saying they worked on these things, doesn't mean they haven't worked on things that matter the most to you and me. Getting your player popular and having a successful career are not mutually exclusive. We just have to wait until some proper information is released.

finally somebody explains it to those PEOPLE who keep on judging, leftos thanks alot! although you might have to this every single time LOL,oh well...anyways nice addition to 2k specially the pre-game rituals,i've read about this already before in one of the threads but i didnt know doing a handstand was an option  hope they give us more choices :D this really gives you a feel that your player is different in some ways and i like it

I'd like to take a poll. Do people play basketball games to play basketball, or to dress up their character and tweet to Jay Z?

What's wrong with having both? I mean, I won't use these features like at all after the first try, but I see why 2K has put them in, and I've seen the crowd that appreciates the fact.

Haha nice to see them building ont he billboards from last year. Unfortunately I don't think that implies a PC All-Star weekend just yet. Honestly I'd even be happy with just a simulated Dunk Contest that shows up at NBA.com. Not like the actual gameplay from All-star Weekend sounds that enticing, it's just the immersion that it contributes to.

They've said repeatedly that if you have the console-only preorder-only DLC, it integrates with My Career/Association. If you don't, you won't get any of that sort of thing at all.

The billboards are fun and all part of the immersion/fantasy of the mode, but I'm looking forward to the developer insight that's supposedly coming mid next week. Hopefully that will answer a few of our questions about gameplay, AI and the like in this year's mode.

In a way, but it's not like they'll show us every single billboard and endorsement that we can get, there should be plenty left to discover for ourselves playing through the mode.

As a graphic designer, this makes me sad. They should at least correct the player's aspect ratio.

I'd say he's even using the "ripped" body shape, and that does look pretty bad tbh... although it's not what I really care for.

Myplayer looks more immersive this time around. I dig that! I always love to play the career modes. i liked maddens and NCAA's career modes. If they still had NCAA 2K and inegrated them together it would be the shizz. Somebody mentioned draft classes. That would be thoro too!
