Interesting take. As I've said before, I think NBA Live 13 stands a very good chance of marking a strong comeback for the Live franchise, but I'm not sure about NBA 2K being in trouble. It may turn out that Live ends up being better prepared for the next generation, as 2K apparently was for this generation, but that remains to be seen. If the NBA 2K comes back with more of the same, only better, 2K13 should be well received and a fine game. If it's just NBA 2K12 with some minor enhancements to graphics and a roster update though, it may end up losing some fans.

I don't know, despite 2k12s' many failings compared to 2k11, I still can't get over Live's inorganic (compared to NBA 2Ks) animations and 'painted on' jerseys. This coming from a former NBA Live fan since Live '97 (until one day I played 2k8, going all "oh my God! What have I been doing this whole time???" and never looked back).
