How to Install Properly the Plug-in in Photoshop , example ,plug in for editing Start up -titlepage.iff ?
Sat Jul 13, 2013 10:14 pm
there is no plugin for photoshop to edit iff files
you need to first use the 2Kx or 3DM Mod Tool to open the iff file, export textures, edit them in photoshop, then import them back in. Usually this is with either DXT1 or DTX5 images, which needs the nvidia DDS plugin for PS.
You can click the Learn link in my signature for more information on how to use the mod tools

The nvidia dds plugin is an executable file. It should find your Photoshop install location automatically. Otherwise you may need to point it to the correct location. On my PC the location is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats. The file is DDS.8bi. As long as the file is somewhere in the Plug-Ins folder(or any sub folder) it should work.

As a quick note, (bit off topic) To install the nvidia DDS plugin in Corel Paintshop Pro ( I have X4) you need to make sure to download the 32 bit version, even if you're running a 64 bit system. Then install to your plugin folder located in Program files /Corel/CorelPaintshopProX4/Languages/En/Plugins
It took me forever to figure out why the heck it wasn't working. Anyways hope that helps someone.
