Xbox 360 controller crashing NBA 2k13

My xbox 360 wired controller is causing my game to crash. it will crash while im in game and when i am in freestyle practice. Usually the game will crash within 5secs of gameplay exactly when I press a button. it does not matter what button. I run as admin and I have all updated drivers. it does not give me an error msg.

EDIT- Now I cant even get past the jumpball. it crashes as soon as i press Y

Have you tried uninstalling and completely reinstalling the controller? Probably the next port of call.

Yeah I have tried re-installing the controller drivers and the same thing. only button that causes a crash is the Y button, everytime. all other buttons are working. it is actually the Razer Onza TE controller but i dont think that makes a difference.

You might want to shoot 2K Support a message then.
