Online enabled? Is 2K actually improving their demos now? Are they that confident about online that they're enabling it right in the demo too?

Interesting.

EDIT: As I mention in the yet to be released podcast we recorded today, 2K had a job opening for "Senior Online Producer" among others since February, so maybe they did finally get around to paying attention to a proper online experience. An online demo is a first for 2K if I'm not mistaken, and it shows a lot of confidence in their infrastructure.

I don't know anything about it (I wish I can learn :D ) and also there's a difference in 2K like they're changing , I can feel it... But is it good or bad, I don't know that yet...:D

I know, it most likely is again just 1 quarter that's ridiculously short, no subs, no playcalling...

But even so, adding online is something new for them.

Adding online to the demo is certainly an interesting change from previous years and hopefully does indicate that significant work has gone into improving online stability, which they're eager to demonstrate as early as possible. However, the rest of the demo sounds run of the mill and probably will not do the finished product justice, as per usual.

Complete contradictions there. Could be wrong, but I can't see there being any improvement to online frustrations on PC.

Would be nice to have a single player demo, but again I can't see that happening. Either way don't matter.

They might be allowing online just because their servers instantly go down every year so they might as well stress test them a week earlier and maybe they'll be working a couple weeks after release instead of a month.

Could be, but if the servers show fail signs before the game's release, that might piss some people off big time. Don't know if and how many sales that would cost them, but it's a positive sign that they're trying it out, even just for feedback and stress testing.

2K11's botched online didn't harm 2K12 too much.

That's why I'm saying I don't think it will affect their sales too much. However, people were going by 2K's word that "the Online has been improved for 2K12", while this time they'll be able to actually see the Online failing, if it does, before they actually pay for the game. So if it is any likely to affect them, it's more likely now.

And most probably 2K will find an excuse for that, and servers won't end up being any better than last year...

Meh, we'll see.

There's also the possibility that after two straight years of five million copies they actually expect users to take the game online and have written modern netcode and ramped up the infrastructure to prove everyone wrong and this is the grand showcase to win the few who bailed back.

Wait, why are you laughing?

Well, as we mention in the podcast that just came out, let's hope the "Senior Online Producer" position that's been up since February got filled, and that whoever got it did a proper job.

But yeah, not holding my breath.

Yeah, nice live broadcast. Down to the last second. And as a bonus, they're now showing interviews with Team-Up members during the actual Team-Up event.

For those that missed it, you'll be able to rewatch it, and it should be soon uploaded everywhere.

The beginning is choppy, around the end of the first quarter it gets awesome.

The menu's are terrible. It looks like it was designed by Flava Flav. It's an eyesore.

Not going to lie, the longer I look at it, the more I see it as its own game and not 2k12. The smoothness in how all the new animations blend and all the new player jogs and walkups give it a different look and feel. The dribbling also looks so much better as does defense because players seem to have weight now. That and-1 at the end of the game by Harden was smooth and that seamless transition to an immediate reaction to his and-1 on the floor was nice to see. All in all, it looks pretty damn good.
