Signature skills are levelled! 3 different levels, to differentiate on their effect even more! Good job 2K!

Yes, good point on the work they've put into Teammate AI. MyPlayer seems really immersive this year. Bar any stupid 2K12-like bugs, it seems the work they've put into the mode may limit my Association time this year.

Really hope the Teammate AI tweaks also apply to other modes. I don't want to see players raising their hands calling for a pass and standing still while I'm dribbling next to them in Quick Game or Association.

I was first disapointed when all they were talking about in the video was about some of the add ons and stuff. I was enlightened when he talked about the AI.
All they need to work on now is having a game face too :D

Also forgot, ratings requirements for each signature skill if you want to level it up past level 1. Floor General requires 85 offensive awareness to get it to Level 2, so there.

This way, using 2K's example in the dev diary, LeBron can have the Level 1 Chase Down Artist SS, but if he doesn't improve his all-around blocking, maybe he won't be able to get it any higher.

Couldn't have asked for much more out of the implementation of Sig Skills.

EDIT: Nope, scratch that, I was wrong. Rating requirements are there even before you purchase a Level 1 skill (85 OffAw for Floor General, 80 Strength for Brick Wall, etc.), so maybe they increase along with the level you're trying to purchase.

Yeah. I hate it especially guys on YouTube. Saying unnecessary things. Its just if you don't want it then don't buy it. There will always be some flaws on any game, though they should minimize it. Though one more thing. I hope they include all-star weekend on my career on PC.

On a slightly less important note, how hard is it to get the Aspect Ratio of your MyPlayer right in all those banners and endorsements? The player seems to always be stretched, either vertically or horizontally.

Holding any company to a high standard is a must. Otherwise you'll get crappy quality like NBALive. If you listened to the 3rd NLSC podcast, JaoSming said he would buy any kind of crap NBA Live would throw out there and that they didn't owe the consumer anything. Is that what you're saying? We are the ones paying out $65 per game. We have all the right to demand the absolute best from the products we are purchasing. Of coarse there are stupid comments, that's why you use common sense to ignore the stupid people. But pointing out flaws and things that should be improved on is a right of the consumer. Otherwise the company will become content, improvements will become less and the product will be crap.

I love NBA 2k, but I am not one bit 100% satisfied with the game. And I'm not going to be a zombie and buy the newest release without voicing my opinion on what needs to be improved. The problem is 2K doesn't focus on the core game as much as it should. Listening to people ask for clothing and billboards for myplayer instead in game issues, online issues, and core game mode issues like association. Which would make the game play and look better.

chicagoRAW, first of all, two things:
1) JaoSming said he would grab a copy of Elite 11 even if it was $200. That's just him.
2) When he said EA doesn't owe us anything, he was referring to the people acting like EA is cheating them by not releasing information about the game early. He also voiced his opinion on why with the game's current state it's best for EA that it's not going up against 2K's Hype Machine, assuming the alternative role for this year's iteration. He's not saying companies should cheat us out of our money, and that we don't deserve products that are good value for money. Those are completely different things.

As far as voicing your opinion on the game's flaws, I'm all for that, but let's try to keep most of it after the game's release. The game has gone gold, there's nothing to be changed until the release, and until we have our hands on the actual game, we can't be sure that they haven't worked on improving the stuff we asked for.

I've told you again, you can't be sure they haven't put their focus on the aspects you want to see improved until you've read all the developer diaries that are yet to come out and seen all the videos, and even more so until you grab the game.

You're really exaggerating the point on whether 2K has its focus wrong. They have catered to both hardcore gamers (new dribbling, improved speed differences, signature skills, improved Association with Total Sim Control and starting in the middle of the season, improved Online Association with full flex schedule, sliders and additional admin control, improved Teammate AI, GM sitdowns) and casual gamers (Slam Dunk Contest, MyCareer Immersion stuff such as clothing, faux social media, mobile and social apps, etc). They have 2 markets to cater to, and they're doing a really good job at it IMO.

And we've yet to see all the pre-release information that is there! Come on man.

Well what I am pointing out is like what Leftos is saying. Just wait for the game to release then do the verdict. You cannot judge the book by its cover right?
Yeah I know this still has a lot of flaws. Like I am saying, There are NO perfect games. ALL has flaws. BUT they have to minimize it. I know where you are. I know your point, Like the textures and stuff, game play etc.
They really fixed alot of issues. Like the speed, and control stick. BUT they graphics and other stuff are the same cause it is the same game engine. Like they said, they develop the game step by step, not by big leaps. Cause like what happened to EA, they don't wanna lose tha balance of the game. All of us know that we want the best game. Though that is why they have the insights and the hands-on demo so that they would get constructive comments. Not like this sucks so bad or something that most people say. I know we are demanding the best out of them. But we should say it in a nice and educated way.Its like patchers here, You would do some hard work on a mod but you get some comments that you suck or some thing like that. Would you like that to happen to you? All I'm saying is. We don't have any other choice. You love or hate the game, there is no other basketball game out there. Chill out dude. Lets just wait for the game. Peace :D

PS: To tell you the truth I really hate 2k12. But since i love basketball, even though 2k11 was better i got the game cause i want to try out the game and see how it improve.
But that is why we have patchers and modders, to improve the game. That is why i love NLSC :D

Leftos, kendz4494, I get what you both are saying. And I'm not saying that it's ok to overreact and nit pick from preview vids. But some things are noticeable. Net physics, created player models, in accurate colors, shinny jerseys, etc. Those things concern me from the previews. I'll put it this way, with what they are promotiong, Jay-Z, myplayer accessories, basically fluff. Instead of more information and examples of gameplay, that's why to me it seems their focus is lost a little bit.

As for NBA Live, my opinion is that they owe the public a lot. They've screwed up so bad, they're the ones that should be having all the dev videos and telling us what they have improved on. Because as of right now, from what NBA Live has done, there is no valid reason to buy that game. That's why they should be convincing us why we should buy it.

(Y) (Y) Yeah you are right. I noticed that too. But the most important for me is the player model. the net physics and shiny jerseys can be fixed by our patchers. I just hope the best. At least they fixed the gameplay. But I am really excited for the release.

We don't know that yet. They claim to have fixed it every single year and yet your teammates in MP are completely retarded every single year. I'd wait with saying they fixed it.

I'm still pretty skeptical about the game and, at this point, probably the only thing that could change that is testing out the actual gameplay. A vast majority of stuff they brag about right now are things I don't or barely care about.

Great video this time around, some really good information coming out of that. The rundown of the off-the-court and extracurricular stuff to build the atmosphere and immersion of the mode was nice, some of that stuff may be more than a lot of us can be bothered to deal with but in any event, it sounds like there'll be a pleasing amount of depth there.

The part about the improvements to AI towards the end of the Insight is probably what most of us wanted to hear, and it was encouraging. The flavour of the mode is nice and you need it for a deep experience, but it obviously doesn't matter in the long run if the gameplay isn't enjoyable. It's encouraging that they've paid so much attention to that as well, we'll see how it turns out. I'm hoping that with the new controls, enhanced teammate AI, and improved grading and development (I like the idea of immediate and constant coach feedback that they're introducing), it'll be more fun to play through this year. I've had some fun with My Player the last couple of years, but there certainly were issues. It sounds like they've addressed quite a few of them, though. Once again, encouraging.

Good news about the signature skills too. As I said in the other thread, it sounds like they've got most of the bases covered and they're on the right track with it.

By all means, complain about the game all you want. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that. In fact i'm glad there are people out there chastising 2k's flaws. But for me personally, i'm not going to pay attention to people's complaints or get all critical about the game this year, because i find that it reduces my enjoyment of the game.

With that said, i'm glad people get on 2k's case, because it keeps them on their toes. But there is something about constantly adopting the critical and complaining attitude that makes one overlook all the positive and enjoyable aspects of the game. Your attitude creates the experience you have. After 10 years of being involved in a basketball videogame community, this is what i've learned.

I was planning on waiting to buy 2k13 as I was really disappointed with 2k12, but this video persuaded me to pre-order it. :?

I love that they're adding an RPG element to MyPlayer. Adds to the experience and gives further incentive to play more than a season or two.

Ronnie 2K answering question about this video:

2:59 Which endorsement path are you taking? Nike or Jordan?

2:48 "This is My Town" and "Slam Dunk Champion" are All-Star game, pre-order and you can play it in Houston with all-star add on

.@Dirk_Wahlberg VC only is collected when online. That's what he meant by 3:05. We'll talk about MyCAREER connected online before launch

.@Andrews070 We'll talk online in next week-10 days. There's a plan there.

@JustDoiT_Self Contracts pay out VC like Skill Points were paid out last year

3:20 Goofy dance! 3:27 Robot 3:39 Coach would kill me

3:05, VC and Skill Points are 1 to 1 system. VC online, Skill Points offline. More to come on that

2:49, more to come on Shoes. Lots to discuss, think a Dev Video is needed to explain all this goodness

2:10, Endorsements, last night's press conference fallout, and off the court activities get thrown into commentary

1:41, 600 new topics that come up in MyCAREER and my sick grey and black suit

1:18, we wanted to hear you actually ask for a trade instead of just selecting some menu option. This is deep

1:09, that's not the only instance of you talking pre-game in the huddle. You'll see more as you advance in MyCAREER

1:03, yes in Blacktop mode you get to play against Legends and currents. How you get Legends is a mystery though

:15, both MyPLAYER & MyCAREER are clickable. MyPLAYER takes you to Closet & assigns animations incl. Pre-Game Rituals-
