lol That does NOT look good when posted in a forum. People, don't use Copy Values. Just upload your lighting profile (found in My Documents\NBA 2K12 Global Editor\ with a pfl extension) to mediafire or whatever and post the link. Going through 25 values and making sure you've put them in right is not easy. Copying the profile itself is much easier.

seanjohn1414, if you ever get around to making a shadow mod and/or hex-editing my 2.7 global to make it look that good, mind giving me a link?

And by the way, people, be patient. Going through 25 values and restarting NBA 2K12 to check out each and every change is not easy. It's going to be a while before we get a complete 25 value profile.

LOL hahaha now i see... its a long list of value.. waiting for your reply for the apps for the .pfl file to open it ^^...
and for the link... sure bro no prob...( my fault i forgot to link it to you.. sorry bro)
waiting to finish upload global... then i'll message it to you.. :D :D
and by the way.. as Johndoe22 say to Tatlopuyo that he edit the hex value in different ways, i try that and i think i know the two rows of the skin when you change the value in hex.... for the white skin and for the skins like fields, noah, etc... im experimenting it now....

PFL are just text files with a different extension. They can be opened by notepad, but they're supposed to be put in the My Documents\NBA 2K12 Global Editor folder so that the Global Editor sees them and puts them in your list.

So if you send me the actual PFL file from your Global Editor folder and I put it in mine, it'll show up in Global Editor as a profile. Kind of like when you download a roster and put it in the 2K12 Saves folder, and it shows up in-game.

seanjohn1414, I'll be waiting for a version of my global with your shadow mod and hex edits. Just make sure you take notes of everything you do, so that we can make a tutorial afterwards and improve the Global Editor as much as we can (by for example breaking down some values to two or three, by darkness of skin for example).

sure bro no prob :D :D but the problem is.... i changed many hex values in the global that im using now and i forgot where is location of it...
the global that im using right now have all your accessories but the sweat in the body is from Kool'EM and for the sweat in the face is from El Granada (Known now as Zone)....
but i take notes to the one that im changing right now... that, i can explain to others and we can make a tutorial for this... coz the first time i played the hex i was just thinking if i can do hex editing... so i just play with the values not knowing that there's something in there need to change....but i will try my best to give it a shot to your full 2.7 bro.. trust me :D :D

If it's just the sweat I need to change, I don't mind. Just keep working on that one and I'll just change the sweat back if need be.

Too bad you've lost some of your edits. See what you can find out and keep notes from now on.

Haven't been back here for a while, just noticed this excellent tool! :bowdown2:
I have a question though, out of these 25 values, which is the one for the facial and arms sweat, and what's the scale? Because I'm using 2wz2's global [and it's awesome, btw! Thanks 2wz2] and the only thing that I'd change about it is the sweat, I want to tone it down a bit.

isaac98, shirts lighting is separate. Download the MIracle My Jersey tool for that.

gogadantes, seanjohn1414 might be able to help you with that. Send him a PM.

I'm not the right person to ask on what the values do, I only make the tools for the values other people find. Seanjohn1414 could be the right person to ask about that, he's studied the Global Editor and the global's lighting values extensively.

Also, when you need to ask me something about a tool of mine, post a reply in the tool's thread. That should be enough. You don't have to PM me the same question as well, because I feel I'm getting pestered, and you're lowering your chances of me paying any attention to what you're saying if you're using more than one way to ask me.

mmm.. lighting 7 - 10 doesnt have any changes in game thats for sure...
lighting13 is for the place of shadow in body... change it lower than 2 then your shadow will be under the muscles of the players.. and vice versa....
lighting 14 will change the intense of shadow in the body but you need to edit first the shadow 13 first..
Note that in the global editor some values doesnt change all the parts of players.. some will only change the head and some will only change the body.... and also some players will not be affected of the values.... specially the players like duncan and also for white players.... coz players like them have a different position lighting values.....
example are lighting 18 and 19(66 66 E6 3F 58 55 D5 3F), like kobe's body skin type, that lighting 18 is not followed by lighting 19 but for kobe's head skin type, lighting 18 is followed by lighting 19 if you will see it in hex editor.... so if you change the values of lighting 18 and 19 in global editor only the head of kobe's skin type will change not their body...

FYI, 0.4 doesn't know there is an update available

and if you make a new version, can you allow for files other than global.iff to be opened? I keep lots of backups and have been swapping values around, so I gotta keep renaming the global file.
Opinions are my own.

seanjohn1414, can you PM me or post here a list of your research on what each value in 0.5 does so that I can include it with the readme for 0.5.1 (to include a fix for Jao's annoyance regarding the tool asking for the file to be named "global.iff") and get it released later today?

Re: [Tool] Global Editor v0.5 (25 VALUES) (Edit Global Light

Postby seanjohn2525 on Tue Jul 10, 2012 2:30 am

lighting 1 place of lighting in the stadium and also the skins gloss in the body and faces..
lighting 2 making the players dark/tan or make them lighter.. this is the main shadowing values in the global. (see the details in the bottom)
lighting 3 this is the lighting focusing in the body and faces. the higher the values the brighter the light that reflecting in the skin, you will see the effect for white and for duncan players only... but only in the body not in the head ( if you use hex editor you can change the values for faces for white and duncan skin type players... )
lighting 4 is for making the skin more contact to shadows but making it higher makes the skin looks greenish.. i think this is hue and saturation
lighting 5 is making the dark players skins looks dark or make it redish.... it also affect the shadow for the dark players...
lighting 6 is like lighting 5 but the difference is for white and duncan skin type players, if you make it negative values making the duncan skin type looks zombie and making the white/ duncan skin type have dark bluish shadow in the armpit area..
lighting 7 to 10 doesnt change anything at all..
lightin 11 is for shadow.. (see lighting 13)
lightin 12 nothing change.. :D :D
lighting13 is for the place of shadow in body... change it lower than 2 then your shadow will be under the muscles of the players.. and vice versa.... you will see great effects if you edit good the lighting 11,14 and 15 .. this the base shadow in the body,
lighting 14 will change the intense of shadow in the body but you need to edit first the shadow 13 first..
lighting 15 also for making great shadow, depends on lighting 11, 13 and 14
lighting 16 is for sweat streak... this is making your sweat effect.... but some sweat effect of your.dds files will not change... (good for progressive sweat)
lighting 17 is for sweat effect if you want to have more sweat in the body even in the start of the game.. but be aware that if you if you make it higher if you use progressive sweat, the players will be like taking a shower then play the game :D :D
lighting 18 uses for dark players only.. this like lighting 3 but only this time for dark players only..
lighting 19 nothing change
lighting 20 to 21 i dont edit this coz i think if when i try to raise it like in lighting 20 the players will be color violet like barney :D or lighting 21 makes them yellow or blues i think...
lighting 22 nothing change
lighting 23 makes the players black ( NOTE.. if i were you dont change it.. for some reason when i change it i cant change it back to normal.)
lighting 24 is half sweat effect half hue and saturation at the same time.. making it raise will have more sweat but making the body become greenish making it lower will have less sweat but redish...
lighting 25 just for shadowing but not that much...

Thanks for all the info seanjohn1414. I've cleaned it up and posted it in the first post, and it's also in the tool's readme as well now.

v0.5.0.1 released!

(Y) very good specification. :bowdown2:
I found this:
lighting12 can chang the dynamic head light in replygame. lighting19 can make the head light reflection on head in replygame. lighting20 and 21 change the menu light.

Mater SJ1414, thx for ur reply very much.
(1)But I have a problem when I use ur work: superglobal cryptnoym blast v6.3(very good), I found out the player are more lighter and I save the values of that to my own global. But the player not lighter in replay like ur. Why? Do u change some value to make the player's skin lighter more like exposure in replay. Just like lighting 18 make the palyer's skin exposure in gameplay. Is that right? I feel my player are too dark. It is very cool adjust! May u tell me how to make it? THX.
(2)Is there a value changed to make the light in arm different between the pre-global and post-global, If this value can be found, then the lighting in arm can be adjust. I just say maybe, just maybe, do u think about that, nothing but for suggestion. Well done, master u found much lighting effect, I and many friends of mine want to say thx to u. Great work!!!
