great sliders.. just had to turn down the steals and play passing lane sliders coz there is too many steals and tipped passes for my liking. all in all you did a pretty good job! (Y)

thanks! you can always turn down the difficulty level so the cpu is less aware on defense or just be careful when handling and passing the ball. with my slider the cpu will hound you in more difficult level.

Like one poster previously said, the only thing annoying is the ft disparity, and on occasion offensive rebounding. One team always has 10-15 more attempts than the other. Besides that, these sliders are great.

that's because no NBA team is created equal and usually the winners has more FT attempts than the losing team.

for examples:

Heat vs Thunder Game 1 of NBA Finals: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 20OKC.html
Winner: Thunder
Thunder FTA: 20/27
Heat FTA: 14/18
Discrepancy FTA: 9

Celtics vs Heat: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 00MIA.html
Winner: Heat
Heat FTA: 31/47
Celtics FTA: 26/29
Discrepancy FTA: 18

Lakers vs Clippers: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 40LAC.html
Winner: Lakers
Lakers FTA: 21/30
Clippers FTA: 13/20
Discrepancy FTA: 10

Knicks vs Wizards: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 80WAS.html
Winner: Knicks
Knicks FTA: 26/33
Wizards: 15/19
Discrepancy FTA: 14

on this one the losing team has more FTA:

Clippers vs Warriors: http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 50GSW.html
Winner: Warriors
Warriors FTA: 17/24
Clippers FTA: 23/38
Discrepancy FTA: 14

Am I the only one having trouble with 3-point shooting? Played my first game and our team went 3/19 on 3pt. The cpu had 2/22. That's ridiculous because most of my shots were good looks, but it seems because the 3pt shot was turned down to 45, most players that were ok hitting from 3-point range struggle and even the shot quality grades suffer (like getting B- or B+ on wide open shots instead of the usual A+).

But then again, maybe these sliders are for coach mode only. That's probably it.

you guys are probably use to the default 3PT slider that you forgot how realistic 3PT shots are like. the average 3PT percentage last year for an NBA team is .349, with .393 as the highest (Spurs) and .295 as the lowest (Bobcats). you can even look up the stats i posted for user name pistol and look at the 3pt shots made and attempt in each game. in real life even wide open 3PT shots are missed. here's a tip, if your best 3pt player is missing his usual 3pt shot or just cold... try giving him an easy basket (mid range jumpers or create an easy lay up for him) to get him going. sometimes this game is about momentum..when you make a run the clutch factor will kick in and your going to start making 3PT shots or layups like crazy....but remember momentum can change all the time. don't force too many threes either if you want a good percentage like the spurs has.

one more thing, when you simulate a game you will see the 3PT percentage and shots made/attempt are realistic compare to a real NBA game. that also tells you the 3PT slider formula are just right.

and just for fun, i did an 8 min quarter (Hall of Fame) game and i try to make as many threes as i can with 2007 Warriors. i made 9/32 3PT, and my opponent (2007 Suns) made 6/22 3PT ....which are very realistic stats. unfortunately i lost the game by a buzzer beater 3 PT made by Barbosa.

no, because you lost. lol...but those stats are very realistic. (Y)

since you lost by 22 points, i recommend you to start on "Pro" level instead of All-Star. Pro in my opinion is the best even challenge between CPU and User. If you make the playoffs you can turn it up to All-Star level.

Unless he was playing a team that he could've lost to by 22 points realistically.

Just a question, what will I change to tune down the free throw attempts? I'd still find it a bit unrealistic to find a team that average 37 FTA per game.

Shooting Foul Frequency.

haha, that could also be a factor.

did some more testing in the lab and i updated the realistic slider to version 1.1.

only minor udpate:

Shooting Foul Frequency: 83 (after doing more testing, i finally feel like this is the right number for this slider).

enjoy! (Y)

These sliders are quite good. (Y) In fact they are so good that I decided to start playing NBA2K12 again after focusing more on NBA2K11 lately which still is a better game overall. But the nice thing about these game sliders is they work perfectly in Coach Mode which I am using here for the first time. I am in the first season of my long planned PHX association (starting in 2007) and after only 5 games I am having soooo much fun already, thank you!

Oh, btw...you should adjust a few things :!: , here are my tips for you to make these sliders even more realistic:
- Injury Frequency: 25 for both User/CPU (it's plenty enough, after 5 games 20 teams have 1 or 2 players mildly injured already)
- Injury Severity: 25 for both User/CPU (players get injured for day-to-day, and 1 to 2 weeks: when you have a 12 players roster this is just right)
*I figured this out too late, after 3 games M.Finley (SAS) was already out for the season with the original sliders...
- Play Passing Lanes: 15 for CPU if you DON'T play with the Coach Mode (so you won't get the ball stolen from you at least 18 times per game)
- 3PT Success: 48 (like other users said before this is where it starts to be realistic in terms of 3 pts shooting)
In case I find some more, I'll be back to help out with some advises. 'Till then, congrats sevin0seven for your game sliders! :applaud:

I had the same question myself when I first tried them but then I realized this is how game sliders should look like in the CPU vs. CPU mode. My guess is his intention was to make & use them in the Coach Mode. I personally wouldn't use them in a User vs. CPU mode. If I was going to play NBA2K12 in a non-Coach Mode (and if you are an experienced user) I would go with these sliders instead: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/n ... s-cpu.html

@levynagy glad you like the sliders and thanks for the suggestions. i have played around with those settings already and i like them the way they are....realistically.

@skoadam my slider's formula are made for all modes of play (CPU vs CPU, User vs User, User VS CPU, Coach mode or not). the game is balanced (even in Hall of Fame difficulty) between CPU vs User with my slider set. you just gotta play realistically with the CPU and try not to over pass, dribble or force shots too much..or it will make you pay, like in a real NBA game.

*i would like to thank Jaoming and team for picking my realistic sliders as "Patch of the Week" on NLSC Podcast – Episode #3. Thanks guys, i appreciate it. :)

Ok i will try but in my opinion there is no way to make one sliders for all modes. But hey no offence, if it works i will try and post here my thanks for your hard job finding right sets. And i know what is finding fine sets i was working on sliders with 2k9,2k10 and 2k11. Peace&out.

I tried the slider you suggested for non-coach mode. I played in Hall of Fame and my comment is.. it's too easy to drive at the basket, theres no bumping at all. Also the lack of offensive rebounds, and the CPU gives you enough space to make an easy mid-range jumpshot. I just wish the slider you suggested was a bit more challenging. I was impressed with the rebounding though. Currently I am looking for a good slider that is for User vs CPU (I play in Player Lock) I will try out sevin0seven's GameSlider V1.1.. not sure though if I should follow the suggested tweaks above by levynagy.

It's good we share opinions about all these sliders, we are trying to sum up our own experience and maybe get the right settings :) As for now, I can confirm what you said about Truth's sliders: for me they were easy as well, that's why I followed this post and sevin0seven's sliders but then, as I wrote above, I found out they were more suited for the Coach Mode as they were intended to. I wish we could find a better game slider set but personally speaking all of them are either too easy, either too hard depending on the Game difficulty I use, and sadly nothing in between them to match my level of play (medium-advanced) and my style (I play with PG locked with a lot of improvising and passing/12+ assists per game with both my PGs). I also wish we had a realistic NBA manager kind of game because the Coach Mode and the Hoops Cast simulator are way too primitive/less strategy based...
