hahaha i know bro..im desperate to change those sweat effects so im experementing in converting the nba 2k11 to nba 2k12 sweats in the .exe..but i think bawal yun dito..been trying for hours and i think its possible now..

thnx pre :D :D but there's this difference.. look at the values for the white players..its .6301 right but the white players skin doest look that redish... :D :D
and oo nga pla.. is that the global that i post?? coz in the global that i post i edit some values using hex editing... pero ang nagpa astig s gmit q n global eh your sweat effects in body and ung sweat effect ni El Granada in your old globals.. :D :D

nope, its my recent global released bro. I changed a lot of things in my global now bro, deleted na rin ung mga old sweats na nasave q d2 sa laptop q so d q na matry ulet ung mga old sweats :(

Here's a quick tutorial based on last year's info: viewtopic.php?f=144&t=83689

This doesn't really apply to this year, but should give you a heads up on how to hex edit.

Then, the values we know so far are:

Each of the above lines occurs many times inside the file. Some occur about 15 times, while there's some that occur 200 times. Each hex value represents a floating point number, which is a parameter for the shaders (you can see that because close to each of these and above is a line about a Microsoft Shader). What the global editor does is that it knows at which points inside the global these values occur and letting you change every occurance with another value, to increase or decrease a particular shading effect, tone or hue.

What JohnDoe22 knew better, and tatlopuyo as well as seanjohn1414 are trying right now, is that different occurences of these values apply to different shaders. So you can shade and color light-skinned players differently than dark-skinned, and get the absolute best result.

That's the difference between the easy hex-editing that's done through the tool, and the advanced hex-editing you do manually through Hex Workshop and other similar programs.

If the 3 of them, as well as anybody else who tries the advanced way, can group some occurences together, we can further improve Global Editor by breaking down, say Lighting 5, to light-skinned and dark-skinned occurences. That way you'll be able to edit as much as possible, as easy as possible, through the tool.

But whether that's going to happen anytime soon, remains to be seen.

as of now, im trying to maintaining the skin color of the dark players and making the right color of the skin for pale skin players like west, field, noah, etc...
coz in lighting 5 and 6 when you turn down the values they become like zombies... hope the manual tunning of the values gives them the right skin colors....

HERE'S SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT.

This goes out to all of you guys that are now experimenting with hex-editing the shaders and lighting of the globals.

ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP OF THE ORIGINAL GLOBAL THAT HAS NONE OF YOUR WORK, AND THEN THE EXACT SAME GLOBAL WITH THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BEING THAT IT HAS ALL YOUR WORK, ALL YOUR HEX-EDITS.

How's that going to help? The answer is, if either one of you does this, and we have the exact same global with and without the hex-edits, we can easily create a binary patch. A binary patch is a file that contains only the differences between two files. That way, we'll be able to apply that binary patch to any global, just like applying a shadow mod profile using Global Editor.

Difference is, the binary patch will contain both the changes done using the editor AND the hex-edited advanced stuff, but any modder/user will be able to apply it to their global.

Please try to do this. It's really important for all of us. Thanks for all your work.

P.S. By using the original Moose 2.7 along with the hex-edited 2.7 SeanJohn sent me I was able to create a binary patch of the changes he made both with the global editor and his hex-edits. It can be applied to any pre-patch global. I'll test it out, and once SeanJohn, tatlopuyo and JohnDoe finish their work, we can hopefully get binary patches out that will apply the same changes to any global.
