Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

Agreed. Same goes for the "left assignment" deduction. On the whole, the grading is a lot better than it was in 2K11 but there are still a few annoyances like that, with a single mistake being very costly to your grade. On the other hand, it is easier to make it up again this year. Better on the whole, but still room for improvement.
Yes much better still than last year. Those things that I mentioned also happen last year. One improvement this year on the grading system that I really like is the improvement of the Hold Ball Too Long deduction. Now you can hold the ball much much longer

.

Me too. Getting small boosts for good ball movement when the offense is run properly is also nice. Last year's system felt like it was more about punishing mistakes, this year's system seems to give equal emphasis to rewarding good play as well.

Does 2k12 have the "Hold Ball Too Long" deduction? Because 2k11 pissed me off with that. Jason Kidd could hold the ball for 20 seconds and chuck up a contested three, but as a point guard, I can't hold the ball for longer than 12-15 seconds before the game deducted an entire bar off my team mate grade.

I don't recall being hit with it as yet. Grading in NBA 2K12 isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than 2K11.

Coolest: Two back-to-back off the glass alleyoops in an online game, both to Serge Ibaka.
Dumbest: After simming a month in My Player, my whole team was completely new

My brother said it does have Hold ball too long deduction but it has a very long time before you will get deducted. I haven't experienced it myself since I usually run plays.

After having a decent run through most of the first month of My Player, I finally ran into that issue. The team made a major trade about four or five days in a row.

It happened to me too.
I play in my first season with Golden State as a SF/SG. First they traded David Lee for Andray Blatche and a month later the traded Ellis and Udoh for Danny Granger and Paul George.
Going for Andray Blatche wasn't that mistake. I also like the addition of Paul George because GS has small backcourt players and with his size he can defend taller 2 guards.
But I really don't know why they got Danny Granger... He has to play the 4 very often. He even plays the center position. In my last game against Orlando he got abused by DH who could score at will.
Since Blatche got injured I also have to play at C sometimes which really sucks.
Btw. Since the trade Indiana has only one player in the roster who primarily plays at SF while GS has 4...

On the plus side, the trades have helped facilitate my rise to sixth man.

Coolest- I was playing the Magic with the Heat, a pivotal mid-season game. They are 1st in the East, I am 4th, 0.5 games behind I think. Tied game, 5 seconds left in the 4th, Turkoglu starts to drive, D Wade on him for some reason, instead of LeBron. Goes into the shooting motion from the elbow, Wade strips the ball, dribbles like a bullet to the other end, 3pt shot (yeah, animation for the same shot he did in multiple OT game vs Bulls back in 08-09), KABOOM! The officials showed the replay and he let it fly with 2 tens of a second left. Magic went down to be second, and Miami now first in the conference.
Dumbest- probably when Clark Kellog referred to Peja Stojakovic as "Shaquille O'neal" after a dunk.

Coolest-I went for a dunk with Derozan but I saw that Mcgee will block me easily, so I pushed the shooting button again so he changed the dunk attempt to a awesome layup on the other side of the basket, just awesome!
Dumbest-Lebron actually scoring in 4th quarters
Sun Nov 20, 2011 3:20 am
dumbest-javel mgee blocks a shot and the ball goes in the net
coolest-the aly op on the other side...of the glass

So...I gather that you don't like...magnetic defense? Is that what you're...
(JK man, I feel the same way about how dumb it is that even a Derrick Rose, if human-controlled, can't ever break CPU centers' grandmas' ankles one-on-one in this game)

I might have overreacted just a tad.

My coolest moment so far was when I was using the Lakers and Durant scored three straight baskets over Artest. Artest showed fustration after giving up the 3rd basket.

Coolest - My association ownage with a suprisingly good Kyrie Irving (CF/Roster downloads) and Terrence Williams back court destroying every team.
Dumbest - Hedo Turkoglu damn near hitting an NBA record of threes on me, and Ray Allen being hurt (yeah not out but hurt) with a sore knee for the season.

Best: Post moves seem easier? I play with the Blazers more often than not, and I'm pulling off some wild moves down low with LMA and B-Roy. Getting the chase down block ON LBJ with Wesley Matthews was dope.
Worst: Mass blockage in online games. Against some teams, with or without pump fakes after an offensive rebound, everyone in the key will get their hand on the ball to block me. When the opposition gets an offensive rebound, it's just power dunk time. Maybe I'm just a poor player.
