Does the Patch Require you to Start a New Game Mode?

Is the patch working for save files that you had already started? I play on PC and want to start a new My Player. Knowing that the patch for PC hasnt arrived yet and will take over a month or so to come, should I wait till the patch is released or will the patch work on currently saved game modes as well?

I'd say you would be fine for the most part.
