Nba freezes when I lose internet connection

This problem is bugging me for a while now, and I hate it so much! I am playing only offline modes for now (since the 2k website ain't up and running yet) and I happen to have pretty shitty internet connection- I lose it multiple times a day. So whenever its lost my game freezes until its back on again. I was thinking of not being logged on, but didn't find a way to not be logged on when the game is running... Anyone have anything for this?

I tried to tell someone who had the same problem to disconnect from the internet before playing the game. Then he said the game wouldn't start. Are you able to play offline? I was able to.

I find this behavior very suspicious. What is the game communicating to 2K while we are playing?

I think I tried to start the game once, when my internet was down. Wouldn't start, but I'm not sure now, it might have started but I had to wait for a while.

It happened to me also

same here, been having internet issues and when it went away the game would either slowdown to a crawl or not start. The FPS goes down to < 1 but still "works"

it happened to me too with 10 seconds left in the game 7 of the finals and i was winning

this happened to me..does this mean we have to be connected to the internet to play this game?thats weird coz i only play offline games..

I have the same issues that you are talking about, and I want to play it during summer´s job.

The problem is that there is no internet server in my summer´s job town.

So, does this mean that I wont be able to play nba 2k12 without internet? I´m going to be there for near 3 months...

nope, mine is the disc version.

I also experience this and it pisses me off everytime i lost my internet especially i'm just playing myplayer mode and then one day i discovered something^^ lol. if you still want to play in offline try removing the internet cable at the back of your computer. it works to me

Instead of reaching behind your computer, you can also disable the network adapter and it should give you the same effect. Although, some have reported that they can't even start the game without an internet connection.
