How to get rid of the generic shoes

Postby blackr0b74 on Sat Oct 09, 2010 5:22 pm

Ok guys I just figured the shoes out,the generic ones at least, on the old school rosters and all of todays players with generic shoes too. There are files named pshoe##.iff these files are to a specific player like MJ's is pshoe1733.iff, KB's is pshoes0195.iff, etc. for their own specific shoe. So to got rid of all the generic shoes just rename shoes files from 2K10 if you have some to pshoes##.iff. :Example: say Pippen's shoe from 2K10 was shoe_100_00.iff, you find his png111.iff in the 2K11 folder, ok now remember it. Then rename the 2K10 shoe file to pshoe111.iff and put the new file in the 2K11 folder and enjoy Pippen in his new kicks. Remember theres more then one Pippen this year so you have to find the other png##.iff to Scottie. Goodluck. :D

P.S. If anyone already figured it out sorry for repeating
Let me know if it worked for you guys Peace (Y) (Y)

NEVERMIND my post not working for some players, began to be to much of a hassle.... (N)
I found another trick after reading this..

For example I put the default Nike soldier on Okafor, save roster, close game...

replace shoe_105_00.iff (Nike soldier)with lets say Air Penny 1,rename that to shoe_105_00.iff

Launch game, go back to Okafor he will still be wearing the default Nike solider. But it you switch off the shoe it will change to the Penny's...

Meaning you could set each and every player in your roster a certain default shoe.. Then take the shoe files out and replace with your favorite shoes to cycle through and not worry about scrubs wearing your retro shoes...

Hoping it works without any bugs...

Ok so i just have a questions about this. Are the png for all the players still the same as 2k10? Cuz how would we find out about them otherwise?

Are the players png and shoe number in 2k11 the same?? For example, if Kobe is png123.iff, are his shoes pshoe123.iff?? If thats not the case, how do I know which player is connected to which shoe?

Well there seems to be a bug, for example I went through my roster and changed the shoes of all the classic teams...Then later that day I noticed 98 shoes got released...Downloaded that inserted the Pshoes#, they all worked except Kukoc and Rodman...

After hitting reset roster they should appear, but it sucks to do this, so basically for the pshoe# to work in the future with your roster, don't touch your generic shoes...I think?

So now that I have put those two shoes in there I need to reset my rosters completely?

Download the newest 2k roster, see if that works, you shouldn't have to reset that roster. That's how I got them working...I know it sucks to have to redo your roster, I like to edit everything before starting my player/assoc...
