good stuff

i've also read that nogster over at OS forum adjusted coaches slider and put up "run plays" on 100 ! he explained that it doesn't mean the cpu runs plays nonstop but just uses a wider variety of plays in addition to the "touches" tendency

Also don't forget about changing the plays for players in the playbook. In my experience and alot of others in the OS forum, Durant just takes shots off curls and is mostly a spot up shooter in 2K11. He should have more ISO and post up plays instead of those spot-up plays.

It will be prolonged because there's more work to do than I initially thought.. I'm changing all isolation tendencies to 0, and creating some players, Asik, Eyenga, Collins, Erden, Samuels, etc, etc.. Also fixing ratings, adding shoes so that generic doesnt exist.. A lot of work to do..

Are u gonna try with classic teams update. Only starting five is real, others are just generic.

Re: [KOVA] NBA 2k11 Rosters Thread

Wed Oct 13, 2010 8:50 am

Nope, I won't do classic teams.. I'm making roster so people can play association.. I'm not interested in classic teams, and I'm certanly not very familiar with players who played 15-20 years ago..

Anyway, I decided to do this with isolation tendencies.. Stars who often make isolation plays -20, All Star players -15, 1 or 2 best scorers on teams -10, scoring PGs, SGs and SFs who are 3rd or 4th options on their teams but don't usually have ball in their hands -5..

Yeah me too. I'm not really on " take your time" bandwagon though lol. ;)

In fact, if you need a beta-tester... :cheeky: ;)

how about your roster Hedo? you want to have me as you beta tester? so we can suggest some things to improve Kova's roster (Y)

Forgot to ask Kova, when the new REDitor comes out, can you edit stadium names? It sucks to play at the MSG and read "Knicks Arena". :(

I'm not making a roster. Doesn't make sense to steal from Kova's thunder and doing the same job as him, in the summer he was on vacation lol, and there was a need.

Maybe I'll make a draft class. I wish you could use draft classes in MP/Legend mode btw..

I think Once the NBA sets its opening night roster then its best to say us as NBA2K11 fans should expect one. To do it before the season starts would be crazy because everyone would say this roster needs updated or this person made the team and is not on the roster etc. Kova just do what you do and put out the roster when your ready.

i agree, take your time, it's so much to adjust and fix and i'm not even sure if it fixes AI even with those huge amount of edits.
frankly, i dont care for shoes and crap like that - tendencies etc. are much more importent.

about "beta testers" - this wouldn't be such a bad idea, just crossing my mind:

how about kova releases a roster with updated tendencies , ratings and so on (no accesciors). lets say he finishes like 4 or 6 teams, something like that, puts out a beta which ppl can download and test the edited teams and give feedback on their results. of course everyone should mention their general sliders or we all just test it on sim-all star, as imo cpu at superstar or higher starts to cheat the user, but all-star plays kind of dump cuz of the tendencies but there should be a big diffrence with a nice roster.

what u think about that kova, i just think it could help u to make the big adjustments, put them out and fine tune off of the feedback, while editing other teams.

just a suggestion... hehe

Kova, over at Operation Sports there is a thread that suggest that the "Stock Roster" (the roster that came with the game, "Reset Roster) is the best roster to use since the Living Rosters from 2K Sports messed the gameplay up and made it easier with less contact and alot more dunks.

Here is the thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forums/n ... -game.html

Also I did some experimenting myself here is my findings:

"Honestly, I think the game has definitely changed after the latest Roster Update.

I've reverted back to the Stock Roster (Reset Roster) and created a new Profile, and the game seems to be back to the one I love. Although the game is not as hard as I first felt it was when I first played 2K11 (b/c I've been playing it everyday) the game play feels more authentic now that I have reverted back to the Stock Roster (to make sure you are using the Stock Roster, check if Don Nelson is still the GS coach).

It's no longer a dunk fest even tho I did not change the game sliders after the Roster Reset (and actually I bumped it back to 50 where it was 25 when I was playing with the newest 2K roster). Before the Roster Reset, I was able to drive by Dwayne Wade using Demar Derozan and dunk it often, but now there is alot more contact and it is harder to penetrate your defender, I haven't beaten Wade off the dribble with Derozan after the change. Also when Lebron (cpu) went up for a dunk, Amir Johnson went up to contest and there was contact in mid-air which resulted in a foul. This would have easily been a dunk before the Roster Reset.

So indeed, Reset your Roster and Create a new Profile to see the changes. I feel it's definitely a better game w/o the new/living Roster and probably going to start an Association with these Stock Roster with manual edits by me for players instead of relying on the Official 2K Roster which in my mind made the game alot easier with less contact and more dunks."

So if it's not too late, would it be possible to work from the Stock Roster and base your changes using that?

Too late, I already did 10 teams, and the reason I used living roster is because it had Vasquez and Henry with real CFs there.. We'll just adjust sliders.. And after Reditor is released, I can easily switch everything to original roster..

Anyway, when I finish all teams, I'll release the roster as a test for you guys just to see if you are satisfied with it and if you have any suggestions, etc.. ;)

Kova, are you planning to add some free agents&European talents like Rubio, Teodosic...etc? That would be nice if added.

I believe Rubio CF is probably in game, but it's hidden like in 2k10.. I will put it once Reditor becomes avaliable.. For now I'm just concentrating on rosters..

Anyway, I need help from you guys! I need .iff numbers of the rookies in 2k11.. If anyone has it or knows the way how can I easily discover it, I would be grateful.. I repeat, I only need rookies.. Thanks!

Yeah hold off for an official release rosters....seems like even 2k 10/13 rosters are missing 4 lakers players and a few more along with a lot more from other teams.

So we won't be able to add CF's edits because they don't have numbers.
