Man its been so long. I know it was like my 2nd or 3rd year in HS when everybody was doing dynasties. I'm 22 now and graduating college May 7th.

Congrats on the family! And I know how you feel about the gaming. I still play 2k, but not nearly enough time to start another dynasty. I got a Grizzlies franchise up and running, but I really wish I had it on PC. You know I miss all the patches playing it on PS3. Maybe since I'm graduating, I plan on taking a year off before going for my MBA. I may have a little after the next new release to start one. Don't quote me on that though. .

I'm trying to do study abroad in about a year or so and hopefully I can come out that way  . I use to keep in touch with Dragon a little while after I stopped posting, but I never get on MSN Messenger anymore. Since school is basically done for me, I'm trying to get back into posting on here. I was lurking for about a month or so, but never had time to post much.

MBA, sweet. Something I briefly considered a little while back.

I'm still playing games (& winning against bad teams) but whilst PSN down, can't really do much.

Anyways, Ricky Rubio is injured again. Broken wrist, 4-6 weeks. Good chance for Marcel Moore, whom has been called up from the D-League.

Anyways, may have made a mistake on the Draft Day trade of rights to Chuck Smith for #3 pick (Floyd Bradley) & Raptors' 1st Rd pick from next year. Ahh well, we all make mistakes. Need to give it more time. Perhaps there's a reason Raptors didn't want Bradley. Ahh well, my other rooks (Svensson is now starting) are going well so far.

What? You didn't expect me to be winning

Nah, I'm alright with Floyd Bradley. It was Perry Buchanan or bust. It's much harder to find a good point guard than a good wing. I think both will turn into very good players. Bradley has been starting for me lately due to a few injuries and putting up solid numbers & shooting the ball better. The trick with him is to either drive or shoot going to the hoop. He doesn't have a perimeter game yet but is devastating in broken play or on the drive.

dare wrote:Post some stats about Sven starting.

His numbers aren't much better, most games are like 7, 6 & a block or two, but it's the intangibles, he plays great man defense. I don't run anything for him, he's just there to defend & gobble up a few boards.

I'm hoping his offensive game improves over time :P

Floyd Bradley & Marcel Moore make life without Ricky bearable :P

I played against Raptors today, Chuck Smith is a killer. Shame Raptors are using him as 6th man, because he put up 15 points in 20 minutes. He can shoot the outside shot, but in the open court he is top 5 athlete in the NBA :D

Image KAHN MAKES HIS DECISION, FLYNN SENT PACKING

Minnesota GM David Kahn had quite a busy week. First he re-signed star forward Kevin Love to a 6 year, $82 million contract extension. He followed it up later in the week by finally making the decision that many suspected, dealing young and improving point guard Jonny Flynn to the Los Angeles Clippers for shooting guard Eric Gordon. In the deal, the Timberwolves also gave up their 2013 2nd Round Draft Pick to the Clippers and received Los Angeles' unprotected 2012 1st Round Draft Pick.

It is believed that Kahn was unwilling to invest long term in Jonny Flynn despite the fact that he has been playing the best basketball of his NBA career this season. With the February deadline approaching, Kahn had to make the call and when the Clippers, looking for a better starting point guard since dealing Baron Davis to Utah earlier this season, he couldn't pass up a chance on the sweet shooting Gordon.

Eric Gordon is also in a contract year and his numbers have been down slightly across the board for the Clippers. After arriving in Minnesota, he exploded for a season high 32 points against the Toronto Raptors and his agent is apparently currently working on a lucrative contract extension with the Timberwolves. Gordon provides the scoring punch that Minnesota greatly coveted from the starting shooting guard spot. This deal gives them a third legit 20ppg scoring option, alongside forwards Kevin Love and Michael Beasley, in what is quickly become one of the highest octane offensive squads in the league under coach Jay Triano.

Minnesota also received the Clippers' 2012 1st Round Draft Pick, which could be potentially very high. Some would say this is too high a price for the Clippers and that the Timberwolves probably would've done the deal straight up for Gordon. I guess whilst Minnesota were pretty sure that they could get Jonny Flynn to re-sign, they are not so sure with Eric Gordon.

With less than a month to the trade deadline, the Timberwolves are likely not done dealing. Swingman Martell Webster has indicated he won't return to Minnesota after being unhappy with his reserve role. Webster is in the last year of his deal, so Kahn will likely deal him for whatever he can get, so to get some value whilst he still can. Then there is much maligned forward Michael Beasley, who is also in the final year of his deal. It is expected, given Beasley's invaluable contributions for this fringe playoff team, that he will be retained at least until season's end. Beasley's play has been more consistent in his second season in Minnesota. It looks like assistant coach Adrian Dantley has had a positive effect on Beas as Kahn had hoped.

For Los Angeles, after dealing Baron Davis earlier this season with their 2013 1st Round Draft Pick to the Utah Jazz for Mehmet Okur, it seems like another poor move for the mismanaged Clippers. Whilst Jonny Flynn was superb in his first game with the Clips, getting 20 points and 11 assists in a rare road win, you really have to wonder what their direction is. The Clippers already had promising second year guard Eric Bledsloe improving in leaps and bounds, plus rookie Mo Bosh backing him up. Now they have three good, young point guards on the roster. Knowing the Clippers' history, they will likely let either Bledsloe or Flynn walk, whoever is more expensive.

Projected Rotations:

    LA Clippers: C.Kaman/B.Griffin/A.Aminu/E.Bledsloe/J.Flynn/M.Okur(6th)/D.Brown(7th)
    Minnesota: J.Svensson(R)/K.Love/M.Beasley/E.Gordon/R.Rubio*/F.Bradley(R)(6th)/C.Brewer(7th)

    * Floyd Bradley is currently starting and will battle Ricky Rubio for the starting spot once Rubio returns from injury

I had actually planned to stand pat & not trade Flynn since I didn't want to mess up team chemistry. However, when Clippers came to me with this deal (it wasn't a Trade Finder deal, just Clippers' proposal to me) I just couldn't pass it up. I really like Eric Gordon, thought he'd be a perfect fit, wasn't a super mega star, so realistic that I could re-sign him provided I pay him (he still might not re-sign, I just hope he will).

For any of you who are interested, just a reminder that 2nd & 3rd posts of this Association thread have team and league history. I don't have time to post articles on each trade that goes on around the league unfortunately, but I do post the notable ones on the 3rd post of this thread. Thought I'd just remind some of you since there has been some interesting ones recently (the aforementioned B-Diddy trade to Utah, Wacko Jacko back to Spurs, Vinsanity to New Orleans, Rudy & Dre to Utah for Gordon Hayward which opens up backup PG spot for Willy Witt, Danny Granger to Cleveland to replace LBJ even though that Chinese rookie Jin Lam is looking like the real deal, averaging 17.5ppg & having a lot of AK47 defensively in his game & being a key reason I dropped my game to Cavs).

Maybe a few more, but rookie Floyd Bradley is a stud. Mini Steve Francis.

Chuck won't be playing for me. Can't have both Beas & Chuck on same team. Chuck Smith is in the right place, he can be the new Vinsanity in Toronto. Gordon is a much better fit for me anyways

Maybe I should've not taken their 1st Round pick, but hey, it's the Clippers, didn't they give up a 1st Rounder & B-Diddy for Mo Williams? I rest my case

But yeah, no way I would've offered them that deal. I can see why they wanted Flynn though.

Talking about the Clips, they also just gave up DeAndre Jordan and Craig Smith to Cleveland for Ryan Hollins & some other chump. Clearly the game has them in contract dumping mode. Shame they're dumping 1st Rounders to get rid of these contracts  I think Sterling is turning Clippers into Knicks of last half a decade, laughing stocks of the League. Poor Blake Griffin :P

If there is overwhelming opposition to the Clips including their 1st Round pick, then maybe I'll give it back along with Martell Webster for one of their bench players (although only decent one is Bosh & Bledsloe is good also) & just call it an amendment to the original deal.

Absolutely love the trade. Would be highway robbery in real life as Flynn is the worst player in the league, and Gordon a borderline all-star but I like your team.

Glad to see this is still going strong. Expected you to have half as many wins as you do!

Yep, Johan is playing well. He was only suppose to be a temporary starter but he's going to be hard to remove from the starting lineup.

Yep, you inspired me to still be in playoff race come February, & what do you know, I've just hit February & I'm still in the hunt

Still wondering if I should give Clips back their 1st Rounder & also Martell Webster & take one of their role players with an alright contract.

Really a decent deal. Gordon is the perfect player for you as he can put up points in a hurry but does not need to be the focal point of your team. He can profit from double teams on Beasley or Love kicking it out. (Y)

You're right hova, that is exactly what he will bring.

The thing with Flynn is that he is overrated in game and was my best trade asset with a 5 star value. In the game he may end up as an all-star. That being said, I think I'm going to give clips Webster and Dragon but keep the 1st rounder. Will make me feel better about the trade.
