Thanks for the kind words guys, I hope you dont feel bothered by the German language on the boxscores and teamstats. But I am way too lazy to write them down by myself so I have to take photos of them.

TheDee, thank you! Well, I guess we should beat the Knicks if we want to make some noise in the East. Celtics and Cavs are really superb in the game.

Lamrock, thanks, man. Actually it did not take too much time and it will be even easier now that I know how Im gonna present it. I pretty much quote myself now on every recap and just change the links and text, you now the process.

Sit, thanks, Sit. The Cats aint the Thunder you know. Now KD who takes every shot and hits most of them haha ;)

XxHyperDunk24, thanks, glad you like it. Yeah I also liked it more because without sounds its so emotionless.

thierryhenry50, Well I just used comments from youtube. Its hard to find a sound that fits though. And then I just mix them. Glad you like it ;)

De8, thank you!

dare019, thanks ;)

Valor, thanks, glad you followin :)

Around the Cats ...

Image

After the tough loss last night vs the Cavaliers I was not really keen on getting to office soon in the morning. I entered the hall and said hello to Mrs. Jones. "Good Morning, Mr. Hov. Mr. Brown sent you some paper yesterday while you were in Cleveland. It's on your desk. Coffee's there, too", she said. I thanked here and went on my way to the office as Mr. Jordan passed by on the corridor. "Hey Chris, good to meet you", he prompted. I had hoped not to see him after our really bad start into the season. "Hey Mr. Jordan. I got your message yesterday, it was really a tough loss I know ...", I tried to explain but he interrupted me immediately "Don't bother, man. I was really not pleased yesterday but I know that we have a long way to go. I thought the addition of Stephen Jackson could really help us but I have to agree that he still has to find his role on the team", he seemed to be appreciative. "I don't have too much time talk since I have a meeting at the golf ranch. Just keep working. I'm sure you will bring me some positive results next week. Take care", he did not seem all too angry about the bad start as he headed to the exit in his long checkered pants blinking at Mrs. Jones. "Okay, at least I have some rear cover", I thought as I entered my office. Randy Brown had sent me a message I discovered on my desk. I drank some coffee and started reading his post.
Randy Brown wrote:Hey Chris, sry to hear from our tough start to the season. I'm sure we will spoil the Cavs tonight ;-). Just a few things.
At first, you should definitely think about the contract of Maceo Baston. It only has 5 days left until it expires. If you want to sign him for another 10 days you should call me so I can deal with it.
Some alternatives could be Melvin Ely who has already been on the Cats organisation or Stromile Swift although I doubt he would sign for 10 days. As I said, just give me a call.

Second, I sent Alexis Ajinca to the D-League just as you ordered. He will be on the Main Red Claws. If you want we can have an eye on him and his playing performance, but the D-League will not start until late November. He did not take it too personal since it is not his first time in the D-League.

The last thing, we took care of the scouting report you demanded. Ron Harper had a closer look at Willie Warren and went over to see the Oklahoma Sooners playing. Here is what he wrote.

Ron Harper wrote:Image
Okay this is what I can tell you so far about Willie Warren. He was born on the 22nd of October in 1989 and thus is 20 years old. Right now he is a sophomore as he decided to stay another year at Oklahoma. His Height is at 6-4 and I don't think he will grow any further. He weights around 207 pounds and already has a strong enough body for the NBA.
So for his strenghts and weaknesses I thought it would be good to give you some points.

Strenghts:
- very explosive and athletic, quick first step, good leaping
- very confident, likes to take (and make) big shots
- good shooter, can hit outside shots, can hit it from NBA range
- has a big array of moves off the dribble
- could also be able to play PG at least from his ball handling and passing

Weaknesses:
- lacks a real position, too small for SG in the NBA, not a real PG though
- a bit egoistic as he has a great scoring mentality
- often takes bad shots instead of driving past the defender
- despite being quick he has yet to develop a defensive game and mentality

This guy could be drafted first for sure. I hope he won't be by us. But if we end up with a high pick we should consider him as on of the top prospects.
I hope this one could help you. I will have a look at John Wall next. Cheers, Harper.

After reading the scouting report I noticed that there was also a message of Doug Collins on the board. It was quite short so I decided to give it a shot before heading to the gym.

Doug Collins wrote:Hey Chris,
just a few words about our progression with the single coaching sessions. I am pleased to tell you that Gerald Henderson has really shown some improvement on his shot be it catch&shoot or off the dribble. Gerald shows the right work ethic and it is fun to watch him at training.
Sadly I have to tell you that we tried to work with Boris Diaw on his quickness but did not succeed so far. He just has to put more effort into it. Maybe you can have a few words. You know this guy is so gifted that we really have to get the best out of him. His versatility could really lift our team. See you tomorrow in the gym.
Doug

After reading the message I had a lot of thoughts running through my mind. I really noticed that with Jackson on the team we were playing more effective when we were running the floor. I had never been a fan of "small ball", "run&gun" or "seven seconds or less", but especially against the Knicks we did some damage running up and down the floor. I decided to think about it later on but still had hopes to get this team going with a half-court offense. I left the door and locked it. On my way to the lot I was totally lost in thoughts. "Me? Small ball? Hell no".

I'm really loving this, they were great recaps and the storyline is capturing. :) You can go far with this if you don't mind seeing lots of L's next to the Bobcat's games in the early months.

The X, thx ;) I thought I might start early with the prospects to have many scouting reports.

Sit, although you have a good nose usually ;) you know that I wont be dealing around this early in the season. At least I used to.

Lightning Strike, yeah, I already noticed that it is sooo difficult to play with them. On offense you have only Jax you can rely on, and honestly, he isnt an All-Star either. On defense the team is pretty good but I suck ^^

dare019, thx. Well maybe I should go with it. Not too sure yet.

thierryhenry50, thanks man.

Lamrock, I decided to go with him since he is the 1st guy on the prospect list ingame. But only one thing, I hate tweeners. :)

Thx for your kind words guys. Right now I am enjoying some flu-like symptoms (I dont have the swine flu!) and thus I am not really into updating. I hope I will do better next week.

Raymond Felton and the Bobcats will try to shake off last week and get the first win for Charlotte.

Image Week 2 (1st-7th of November)

After a disappointing start to the season, the Charlotte Bobcats are looking to snatch their 3 game loosing streak and finally grab the first win of the season. The schedule will make it easier for them this time. Instead of facing high caliber teams like the Cavs and Celtics on the road, the Cats will play two of their three games at home, against the Hawks and the Nets. The only game on the road will be against the talented Chicago Bulls on Saturday to end the week. So it will be once again a Friday-Saturday back-to-back experience which coach Chris Hov did not really appreciate, especially with one game on the road and one at home. "This is definitely a bad schedule to start the season. So we have way too much time (3 days) between two home games where we don't need to travel but have back-to-back games at home and on the road. This organization is simply bad.", Hov stated on Bobcats.com.

Image The Nets (1-2) will visit Charlotte on Monday coming from a loss against the Wizards at Washington 108-120. The Nets were without Devin Harris who sat out the first three games with a groin injury but is expected to start for the first time this season against the Bobcats. New Jersey allowed Gilbert Arenas to pour in 42 points and got outrebounded 30-40. With Devin Harris out, three youngsters have stepped up their game to fill in and give the Nets one win already. Chris Douglas-Roberts averages 19.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game so far. Courtney Lee, who scored 28 points against the Wizards is averaging 18.3 points per game. Brook Lopez, last year's rookie surprise, is not far away of a double-double averaging 10.3 points and 8.5 rebounds. Rookie Terence Williams also showed glances of his potential and is averaging 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

Image The Atlanta Hawks (2-1) will be the next ones visiting Charlotte. The Hawks had a perfect start into last week but suffered a close 100-104 loss in their third game against the Lakers. Kobe Bryant scored 38 points to overcome 22 points and 7 assists by Joe Johnson and 19 points and 6 rebounds by sixth man Marv Williams. The Hawks decided to let him come off the bench and give Jamal Crawford the starting spot moving Johnson to SF. Crawford is averaging 13.7 points so far this season and is playing more unselfish. Joe Johnson has been scoring well so far with 24 points per game and has also added 4.7 assists. The best Hawk this season so far must be Josh Smith. J-Smoove is putting on All-Star like numbers. How about 16.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.3 blocks per game on highly efficient .62% shooting. It's only three games played, but he has already set the tone for this season.

Image The Chicago Bulls (2-1) will be the last game of the week for the Bobcats visiting United Center. The Bulls have already been the initiators of two majors upsets. They beat the Celtics at Boston 111-98 and also upset the Spurs at home 81-99 behind Luol Deng's 27 points. Deng has been the Bulls' topscorer so far averaging 19.7 points. Derrick Rose holds averages of 15.5 points and 7.3 assists per game. Joakim Noah showed great improvement and is so far averaging 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. The Bulls are 3rd best in FG% and 2nd in 3pt% right now.

After a tough start into the first week it is important for the Bobcats to get on the right track soon and this three game skid is a good possibility. Three Eastern Conference Rivals, one of them in the same Division (Hawks) and none of them a top 4 team. Charlotte should grab at least two wins on this one and put themselves in a better position after two weeks.

So Im doing a bit better and since I cant do shit except sitting in front of the screen I decided to update.

Even though they are better than they are in real life, I think you can take the Nets, but I think you drop to 1-5, as the Hawks and Bulls are solid.

I think your on the right track with getting rid of the small ball and running the floor more instead. Your team looks built for that.... especially when your big man can run the floor, Wallace can finish at the rim, and your back-ups can shoot lights out.

Even 4 blocks of Tyson Chandler were not enough to beat the Nets

Jackson's 30 not enough to beat Nets

ImageImage
Charlotte, November 2nd
The Charlotte Bobcats could not avoid their 4th consecutive loss in a tightly contested game until late in the 4th. The Bobcats started off hot, especially Stephen Jackson who scored 12 of his game high 30 points in the first quarter. Leading by 8 points Charlotte got sloppy on offense and made easy mistakes to help the Nets get back on track. Bobby Simmons, who had 9 points in the second quarter hit a three to give the Nets their first lead with 1:37 left in the 2nd. Behind by 5 the Bobcats went into halftime. Both offenses had problems finding their rhythm in the 3rd and the Cats were able to tie the game after a three point play by rookie Gerald Henderson, but the Nets answered back with a 8-0 run, thanks to Chris Douglas-Roberts who had 14 points in the game. The Nets extended their lead to 11 heading into the 4th. But Charlotte fought back. Behind some stellar play by Ronald Murray who added 12 points in 17 minutes off the bench the Cats came close. Murray hit a three to bring them within six and after both teams trading buckets he scored 5 in a row to tie the game. When Brook Lopez missed two freethrows with 1:07 left on the clock the Nets led by 3. The Bobcats ran a play for their game high man Stephen Jackson and he got wide open in the corner for three. Jackson could not hit. After some fouling and freethrows by Devin Harris who had 15 and 8 the Nets won the game 90-81. The Cats had 15 turnovers also because the Nets stole the ball 10 times. Tyson Chandler had himself a big outing, grabbing 16 rebounds and blocking 4 shots. Raymond Felton had an off night scoring 2 points in 30 minutes.

Shooting woes keep Bobcats winless

ImageImage
Charlotte, November 6th
Being a fan of the Charlotte Bobcats right now is tough. Being the shooting coach of this team must be even tougher. But being the responsible GM and coach is maybe the toughest task. .39% from the field and .21% from downtown were recorded after the Cats' loss to the Hawks at home. Their second in a row at Time Warner Cable Arena and their fifth consecutive to start the season. The Cats are the only winless team so far this season. From the very beginning Charlotte did well going to the line. The Hawks had 8 fouls in the first quarter alone which led to 12 freethrows for the Bobcats. Jamal Crawford and Marv Williams both were in foul trouble all game long because of this first quarter. And despite being down by 8 after the first (thanks to the hot shooting of Joe Johnson who scored 9 of his 15 in the first) the Bobcats looked sharp and did everything to contain the Hawks. They simply could not hit their shots. Stephen Jackson scored 30 again, but it took 7-23 to achieve this mark. Gerald Wallace scored 3 points on 1-9 shooting as he simply finds no plays for him in Hov's offense. The Hawks had no problems finishing the Bobcats and let them never come back even on a 9-0 Cats run in the 4th. Jamal Crawford had a game high 28 points hitting four of his eight from downtown. Josh Smith added his common statline with 16/8/4/3 but no block. Tyson Chandler again had decent 15 rebounds.

Crisis! Bobcats loose six in a row

ImageImage
Chicago, November 7th
The Bobcats are into deep trouble after loosing their sixth straight game in front of the eyes of owner Michael Jordan in the United Center. General Manager Chris Hov stated:"I know you all wanna see heads rolling or anything like that now. But I will tell you one thing. I'm the new headcoach of this team. Six games are good to analyze and I needed those six games. Tough to see us loosing on every of these games. But I know what we need to improve and we will improve". The GM could not hide his disappointment about a performance of his team that you would like to forget soon enough. On a try to run the floor more often the Bobcats lost the ball, shot horribly from the floor and could not stop Derrick Rose. The reigning Rookie Of The Year scored 26 points and dished out 10 assists on 9-17 shooting. John Salmons added a game-high 27 points as the Bulls never trailed after the first. "The Cats really played like the Warriors tonight ... on defense!", TNT analyst Charles Barkley laughed after the game relating to the questionable decision to let the team run on a back-to-back game. Stephen Jackson scored 20 points and Flip Murray, who looked like the only player comfortable with the running offense added 16. The Bulls had 5 guys in double-figures and dished out a season-high 37 assists. Michael Jordan did not want to talk about the game afterwards. Chris Hov now needs to show something. To show that these games have been test games. He needs to find a key rotation and maybe even a go-to-guy although this might be hard on the Cats roster. Trade talks? Maybe. Something has to change in Charlotte. Or the fans might want have back an "old man preaching defense" soon enough.

I hate it when that happens, passing it to an open guy who's an established 3 point shooter, timing the jump and releasing it perfectly, but it just doesn't fall. Especially annoying in close games. Man I feel sorry for Hov, Michael is going to rip him one if Hov doesn't get a win soon, with a loss to the Knicks and the Nets, you might soon be competing for the record New Jersey are going to set in real life. :P
