Rosters look fairly realistic. What kind of #s are Bol and Wall posting? Don't like the moves but you're team looks on pace to improve from last season. Keep it up.

Surprised to see Minnesota so high, I guess Sit has been a key factor for them.

Nets are looking good and man the Lakers are playing well. Bah at the All Star starters though, the day Dwight Howard isn't an all star (during the prime of his career) is the day the All Star game should be cancelled!

Nice line-ups but the East will dominate the All-star game. too bad Sit is not an All-star

To be honest, i don't like them either
but it was necessary cause my team was starting to stink (sub .500 record in january...) and i might drop out of the playoffs all together if i continue with that lineup, plus, those 2 are expirings and may even just retire at the end of season, so i can just get someone via FA :)

Cartar wrote:Surprised to see Minnesota so high, I guess Sit has been a key factor for them.

Nope, they were stinking it up pretty badly before, it's the Jackson+Marbury trade that brought life into Minnesota

Yeah, surprised that he didn't get in and the 3 rookies did, but i guess that's 2K for you

Most surprising is that there are 3 Oklahoma City players...they are not even in the top 8 teams of the West so i was a bit surprised...
East has the size and West has the 3 ball, who knows, maybe West will come out on top again

Yao, Rose leads East to win over West in All Star Classic
Image

Los Angeles, CA - When a team scores 168 points, you'd expect it to be a blowout game.

Not tonight.

The Eastern Conference All-Stars tied the All-Star record with 69 field goals on 61% shooting, and managed to hold onto their minuscule lead of 2 points to win the game as the Wests' Kevin Durant misses the potential game winning 3 pointer, 168-166. The highest scoring All-Star game in history.

Kobe Bryant had 33 points on 13 for 19 shooting for the West, while Chris Paul added in 22 points and 16 assists. Kevin Durant dropped 19 and 9, and 8 players in the West scored in double figures. But it wasn't enough to stop first-time all star Derrick Rose, Chicago's first All-Star since Michael Jordan's last appearance for the Bulls in 1998; and the West's lack of size certainly did not help them stop the 7'6" All-Star Center Yao Ming of the New Jersey Nets, who took home MVP honors after the game.

Rose led the way for the East with 30 points and 10 assists in 24 minutes of play, while Yao Ming had yet another big double double performance with 19 points and 14 rebounds, alongside 3 blocks. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James chipped in 23 and 21 points respectively.

The Eastern All-Stars dominated the paint area, reaching the century mark at 100 in comparison to the Wests' 70; they also beat the West on the boards, with a 52-43 advantage, and despite not being able to find a rhythm beyond the arc (3 for 15), they were able to get to the line at will (27/41 FT).

"It was a lot of fun" said Yao after receiving his All-Star MVP hardware "Getting this award is an honor but I think that Derrick definitely should have gotten this instead, he was fantastic for us out there."

It seemed like a typical All-Star Game, with thunderous dunks and spectacular plays coming in left and right. Except for one thing. Defense was being played.

Despite the record-setting score. There was a combined total of 19 rejections and 10 steals, and players were going at it for the entire game.

"I think that's what the crowd really wanted to see, a real game" said Bryant, who was last year's MVP "Just players out there competing, obviously it's nice to have all those dunks and highlight plays, and it was there too, but the play on the other end of the floor was great. Just a great game overall, i definitely enjoyed my time out there."

"We are winning next year for sure though" added Bryant with a laugh "They ain't gonna have a streak on us"

Deadline Deal: 76ers Send Disgruntled rookie to Raptors
February 16th 2011

Image
The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that a deal has been reached with the Toronto Raptors
involving disgruntled rookie guard Carl Cruz being sent to Toronto in exchange for Roko Ukic
and a future 2nd round pick.

Cruz, drafted 8th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the 76ers, has been unhappy with the lack of
playing time that he has been receiving, being sent back as the third or even fourth string point
guard in the rotation behind Louis Williams, Quincy Douby (before the trade that brought AJ Price),
and even at times, fellow rookie Jamaal Landry.

"It was a bad situation for me, not having a chance to show my talent out there" said Cruz "I think I
have the ability to play amongst the best of them, and hopefully these Canadians would be the ones
to witness it now"

Standing at 6'1" and 245lbs, the 20 year old Philippines native has been averaging 2.2 points and 1.4
assists per game in just 5 minutes per contest over 51 played for Philadelphia.

King James goes down with Broken Toe, out 4-6 Weeks
February 21st 2011

Image
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James will miss an approximate 4-6 weeks to surgically repair his broken toe.

James suffered the injury during practice, when teammate Greg Oden accidentally landed on his foot following
a scrimmage, James immediately fell down in pain and was carried off the court in a wheelchair. X-Rays revealed
the break and although an MRI showed no ligament damage, surgery and rehab will take up to 6 weeks.

This means that the Cavaliers star will return at the brink of the regular season, and could possibly be ready to go
for the playoffs, if Cleveland makes the playoffs.

They are currently sitting at 12th place in the Eastern Conference.

"I am extremely disappointed at this" said James "I apologize to the fans and the team for this setback. But even
though we clearly won't be going to the playoffs this year because of me sitting out, when i come back healthy
next year we'll have a good shot at winning it all. So until then, i ask for my teammates to not stink that much
and embarrass this city."
