All good guys. Don't know how I'm going to get to work tomorrow though, my train station is under a little bit of water:

Image
Note: I'm not that random chump. It is some random guy on Facebook who went through some flood water & bypassed some police cordoned off areas

Image
Back view of my stomping ground  There was a reported bull shark sighting around my area in the flood waters :P

Provided power stays on, will get an update going. My mind has been a bit pre-occupied for some reason :P

Haven't talked to boss yet. It would be a shit of a mission trying to get to Darra train station via Springfield Lakes avoiding flood waters around the place. I think I won't go in before Monday. Still then, will likely have to mission it to Darra train station for a while.

Yeah, I'm not heading out till Monday and that's even if we're reopen... I think public service is focused on the recovery of the State rather than regulatory reform.

I heard rumors that if you pray to Kevin Costner floods will subside.

Image 2011 MARCH MADNESS – NCAA TOURNAMENT

18 March 2011

EAST REGION

CINDERELLA IS DANCING AGAIN, GEORGE MASON GIVE IT TO THE BEAVERS

Junior shooting guard Chuck Smith (21 points, 2 steals) watched in disbelief as he and his teammates got beaten backdoor time and time again. The veteran Patriots squad was led by a big night from senior shooting guard Jessie Dillard (23 points, 6 assists) as (13)George Mason caused the first big boilover of day two of the tournament by running all over (4)Oregon State, winning 80-63.

Smith was solid as always for the Beavers, but did not get the usual strong support from the team's core wing players (Malcolm Hoffman: 11 points, 5 rebounds; Melvin Hale 4 points). It was however the team's lack of intensity at the defensive end that cost the Beavers, which was really surprising as that was their trademark on the way to the PAC-10 title.

Meanwhile, George Mason now has to like their chances of advancing to the Sweet 16 after the bracket opened up slightly with (12)Utah State upsetting (5)Iowa State in the previous game.

FIGHTING ILLINI SURVIVE FIRST ROUND SCARE

In a see-sawing game in which neither team led by more than 4 points, (2)Illinois could only hold its breath and hope as Bruins' senior guard Joseph Holmes put up a 35 foot heave for the win. Holmes' heave connected with the backboard but failed to draw iron as the Fighting Illini survived an unlikely first round scare, beating (15)Belmont 70-68.

Junior centre Jamaal Fordham paced the Fighting Illini's balanced scoring attack with 13 points, whilst Bruins' junior guard Denny Soto had 16 points (including 4 of 6 shooting from behind the arc).

OTHER RESULTS

(5)Iowa State 64 (C.Andrew 8pts; D.Keefe 5pts, 6asts)
(12)Utah State 71

(7)Mississippi 62 (D.McLeod 11pts, 5rebs; D.Baylor 9pts, 9rebs)
(10)Dayton 75

WEST REGION

BADGERS HANDLE TITANS BUT GET BANGED UP

(2)Wisconsin prevailed in a hard fought game 73-62 over (15)Cal State Fullerton. The Badgers were led by senior trio, centre Milt Szatko (16 points, 13 rebounds), point guard Marcel Moore (15 points, 5 assists, 4 steals) and shooting guard Andy Woodson (12 points, 7 turnovers) and although the Titans kept it within double figures for most of the game, they never actually threatened to win the game.

It wasn't all good news for the Badgers, as they now carry injuries into the second round with Moore (twisted ankle) and Woodson (sprained wrist) both suffering minor injuries in the second half. Both players are expected to play through any pain in the next round, but it has to cast some doubt over the team's ability to advance further into the tournament.

OTHER RESULTS

(5)Louisville 84 (S.Nash 5pts, 6rebs, 10asts, 2stls)
(12)Wichita State 58

(4)Temple 65
(13)Montana 58

(7)West Virginia 77 (C.Long 14pts, 6rebs, 3blks; J.Morgan 10pts, 6rebs)
(10)Florida 63

SOUTH REGION

VANDY COME FROM BEHIND TO SAVE FACE AGAINST FAIRFIELD

(1)Vanderbilt have been predicted by many to go all the way to the Final Four and to win it all. They can't get ahead of themselves though, as they almost fell victim to believing in their own hype, as they trailed for 38 minutes of the contest, before storming back to beat (16)Fairfield 81-76.

The Commodores were led by freshman forward Art Burks (16 points, 10 rebounds), meanwhile junior forward Jaime Buford (8 points, 3 steals) and freshman centre Alonzo Warren (4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals) both struggled. The Stags meanwhile got superb play from their sophomore forward Clay Korver (22 points, 9/11 FG, 7 rebounds). Clay Korver, one of the infamous Korver clan which includes the Chicago Bulls' Kyle Korver, gave Vandy all he and the Stags could as they came within two minutes and a handful of points of causing one of the biggest upsets the NCAA Tournament has ever seen.

OTHER RESULTS

(5)Texas 59
(9)Miami (FL) 72 (D.Stevens 21pts, 5asts, 2stls)

(6)South Carolina 62 (J.Jeffries 15pts, 7rebs; 2stls; R.Sharpe 10pts; R.Norton 8pts)
(11)Old Dominion 52

(3)Syracuse 99
(14)Harvard 60

MIDWEST REGION

WASHBURN HURT AS ZAGS DO A NUMBER ON HUSKIES

It was anybody's game at half time, as (9)Gonzaga led (8)Washington 30-29. Then fate intervened just after the half time break, as star freshman point guard Lambros Washburn (3 points, 3 steals, 2 turnovers in 17 minutes) came down awkwardly on a missed layup attempt and immediately went down and writhed around on the floor in agony as he clutched his knee. Washburn was taken away to the hospital for tests on his knee, where it turned out that he fortunately had only suffered a severe knee sprain of the MCL with no tears to his knee ligaments.

The damage however was done for the Huskies as they struggled to recover from the loss of Washburn, going down 61-77 to the Zags. (8)Washington disappointingly had no players reach double digits and really failed to bring their "A" game that we had seen earlier in the conference season. (9)Gonzaga had a strong performance from junior power forward Karl Lewis (20 points, 13 rebounds, 2 blocks) as they look forward to a second round game against Nova.

OTHER RESULTS

(1)Villanova 73
(16)Fairleigh Dickinson 56

(6)Connecticut 54 (H.Evans 4pts, 2/9 FG, 0/5 3Pt, 4asts, 2stls)
(11)BYU 63

(3)Xavier 83
(14)Coastal Carolina 75

TOURNAMENT PICK 'EM UPDATE

Image

LEADERBOARD (AFTER ROUND 1)

    Agent420: 3
    X's Wife: 3
    ----------------
    Lamrock: 2
    shadowgrin: 2
    Axel.: 1
    Sit: 1
    Thierry: 1
    dare: 0
    Houndy: 0
* Axel. & Sit, my wife picked 25 out of 32. Axel. and Sit both picked 22 out of 32 I believe, so both of you missed out on bonus prize sorry. FYI, just pick the 4 games this time around as no bonuses for picking whole round anymore

GAMES OF INTEREST IN ROUND 2

(1)North Carolina vs (8)Butler
Only one year removed from their fantastic run to Final Four, the Butler Bulldogs are looking to upset top seed, North Carolina, led by senior Bernard York, junior Ken Davidson and freshman Lloyd Murphy.

(1)UCLA vs (8)Kentucky
In what is shaping up as one of the games of the round, likely Naismith Player of the Year Perry Buchanan will look to stamp out the young Wildcats of Kentucky, led by coach John Calipari.

(2)Wisconsin vs (7)West Virginia
Both teams are playing well right now, but the Badgers are carrying injuries to senior guards Marcel Moore and Andy Woodson. Can Mountaineers' senior Chuck Long extend his career one more game?

(2)Maryland vs (10)Notre Dame
This would normally be an easy pick, but with All-American sophomore guard Floyd Bradley out of action, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame suddenly have to be in with a strong chance. The Irish are not without there injuries, starting point guard Husein Ball continues to play through pain, and two members of their bench have been pestered by nagging injuries.

Get your picks to me by PM within next day or so.
