Yeah, one could say that, but I'd prefer a 120-90 win than a 140-120 win. You played some defense

Durant Holds Off Rockets
Seattle Stealth at Houston Rockets: 103-98
Preview | Boxscore | Recap | Highlights
January 28, HOUSTON (AP) – Kevin Durant had no doubt that his team would win against the Houston Rockets. That was even when Houston kept the pressure on the visiting by refusing to let go of the game despite trailing by double digits all night. The Rockets got as close to 2 points of the Stealth before Durant knocked down four straight jumpers to help his side win their 26th game in a row.
“These guys are jokers,” Durant referred to the Rockets, “I was never going to let them spoil my party.”
Durant finished the game with a high total of 35 points and added 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Reshawn Tyson added 30 points – every single point of his crucial considering Andrew Bogut’s poorest outing of the season. Bogut finished with just 4 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals on 2 for 10 shooting. Durant waved his teammate’s performance off, “He was sick so just give him a break. Plus when you have me on the team, you can afford to have a few off days.”
Notes: The Stealth have not played many opponents over .500 in their recent run of games but copme up against New Jersey (28-18), Miami (24-21) and Indiana (29-17) soon… Durant had a long rest from midway through the third quarter until there was just four minutes left in the game…

Can The Stealth Keep The Winning Up?![]()
![]()
JANUARY 29, SEATTLE – The Seattle Stealth have won an incredible 26 games in a row. The question on everyone’s’ lips is whether the team can keep it going with their toughest challengers in a while looming as likely candidates to snap their amazing streak.
The Heat and Nets will visit Seattle in the next two games, which should shape up to be an interesting two night home-stand for the Stealth. The Pacers will then visit the Stealth in a week’s time. All three teams are playing great basketball right now. They are all 7-3 in their last three teams – positive results given that each have upgraded their rosters through trades.
24-21 Miami struggled to get over .500 for most of the season and a main concern for the Heat is the fact that SG Dwyane Wade (23 ppg, 5 apg) and PF Michael Beasley (18 ppg, 10 rpg, 2 bpg) have both seen their numbers dip from last season. The arrival of Robin Lopez has solidified their frontcourt but more importantly though has been the recent addition of Larry Hughes (11ppg). The Heat may be a problem for the Stealth as they play great team defence and have the outside shooting threats surrounding their All-Star duo.
“We can beat Seattle,” Wade said before shoot around yesterday, “We’ve done it before and it’s going to be a good game. My team is up for the challenge.”
28-18 New Jersey may be the most likely team to snap the Stealth’s winning run. They have the star power and depth to compete with the Stealth after trading for All-Star PF Chris Bosh. Bosh (24 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 2 apg) has settled in well alongside SF Carmelo Anthony (25 ppg, 6 rpg, 2 apg) and PG Barney Steele (12.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 10.1 apg) and the Nets are probably one of the only teams that could keep up with the Stealth offensively.
However, there are question marks over whether they can stop them on the defensive end. Anthony recently joked, “We don’t need to play defence when we play Seattle.”
The Pacers are an interesting team-orientated outfit that could challenge the Stealth. The team has been playing some inspired basketball since acquiring sixth man of the year candidate Jeff Green (12.5 ppg, 4 rpg). They have five players who average double digits in points and a sixth who is on the cusp. Led by Ricky Rubio (9 ppg, 8 apg), the Pacers have surprised everyone with their 29-17 record. “I guess no one thought we’d be any good this season,” Danny Granger (17 ppg) admitted.
C Marc Gasol (16 ppg, 7 rpg) and PF Leo Chase (10 ppg, 8 rpg) are both competent defenders and should be able to slow down the Stealth’s frontcourt pairing of Andrew Bogut and David Lee. The question is whether Granger and Albano Spagnoletti (15 ppg) have what it takes to slow down Kevin Durant and Reshawn Tyson.
Stealth Head Coach George Karl ran through a number of drills this morning before calling a team meeting to discuss what should be their most challenging pocket of games in what is shaping up to be a challenge to break the LA Laker’s 33 consecutive victory record set in the 1970s. After coming out of the closed door meeting, Karl addressed the media with a prediction on whether the streak would remain intact after Miami, New Jersey and Indiana.
Karl just smiled and said, “Is there any reason why it shouldn’t (remain intact)?”
