The story so farKevin Durant Gives Strong Indication Of StayingMay 23, 2011SEATTLE (AP) – Seattle Stealth All-Star and NBA Leading Scorer Kevin Durant has given his strongest indication yet of his intention to sign a new contract with the Seattle Stealth.
In a recent interview with Woody Hannes of ESPN.com, Durant says, “I want to stay with Seattle because they drafted me and gave me a chance to lead my own team. I want to return that good faith they had in me by staying.”
Durant also stated that if a deal was to be done, he would request a shorter deal than most players would sign for, “I’m only looking for a three year deal.” The former Texas Longhorn added, “I can’t leave my team baby.”
Hannes wrote a
recent article on Durant, which was considered scathing and Durant had cried out in the media about it being malicious and unfair. The two decided to get together and clear the air. Other topics that were discussed was the direction of the Stealth, Durant’s antics during the playoffs, and Jason Kidd’s impending retirement from professional basketball.
