I prefer the real name. :P Sorry.

Your last name reminds me of Spaghetti Bolognaise. :)

Haha, nice article :)
Not the best first games for my predictions. I hope things turn around a bit next.
Yeah why not add Andy Kloss :) Reminds me of Keith Closs ^^

COngratz on the 50. Easily the best piece ever done among all of those stories. Continuity is worth a thousand times more than everything else imo.

The story so far

Rasheed Wallace Has Lower Back Strain

May 2, 2011

PORTLAND (AP) – The Seattle Stealth suffered a blow to their playoff chances against the Portland Trailblazers as C/PF Rasheed Wallace was diagnosed with a lower back strain and is due to miss up to 4 weeks.

The Blazers cruised to a blow out Game 1 win when Wallace landed on his back late in the third quarter. It was initially feared that Wallace had suffered a spinal injury and he was carried off the court on a stretcher with a brace supporting his head and neck.

Stealth General Manager Will Sit addressed reporters, “We are very disappointed that we have lost Rasheed but there is no time to dwell on it. We have got to prepare for Game 2.”

Portland Prevents Seattle’s Gallant Comeback

Kevin Durant gives Brandon Roy
a taste of his own medicine

3 May, 2011

PORTLAND (AP) – Kevin Durant made a desperate bid to save the Seattle Stealth in the final three minutes of the game but his efforts failed. Portland took a 2-0 lead in their second round series and the Stealth suffered yet another injury blow with starting PF David Lee suffering a twisted ankle.

Already missing backup C/F Rasheed Wallace, Stealth Head Coach George Karl could not believe it when Lee was hurt after an awkward fall following a block attempt midway through the third quarter. Not too thrilled, the veteran coach stated, “We must have some kind of curse or something in this building. Two of my guys are down. It’s an uphill struggle from here.” Lee would later return to the game for a few moments but was largely ineffective as he hobbled on his hurt ankle.

Durant, who led all scorers with 30 points, was bitter about the defeat, “Portland got lucky. I don’t know what they did at halftime but they must have given their players something. We were the better team all night. I think I will blame the ball boys and the dancers. The court was a bit slippery too. It wasn’t our fault we lost and they didn’t win it either. They got lucky.”

Durant helped Seattle to a good start in the first quarter as he scored 13 of the team’s 25 points. The Stealth led by double digits for most of the first half as a result of that but a late Blazers charge in the half got the home team back in it. Steve Nash was inspiring for his team and ended the half with back to back buckets that pulled Portland within six points of Seattle.

Ben Gordon’s three pointer to start the second half set the tone for the Blazers for the rest of the game. Brandon Roy added a trey and a step back jumper to give Portland its first lead of the night at 51-50. The Stealth would regain their lead but Lee landed awkwardly on his ankle soon afterwards. Lee was forced to leave the game with Seattle on top 57-51 with 7:27 left. Portland took full advantage of his absence with a 14-2 run.

The Blazers continued with their dominance on both ends of the floor in the final period. They turned a 2 point ball game into what was seemingly headed towards a blow out. Portland’s led 81-68 with 5 minutes left in the game. Durant tried to take over but the Blazers hit too many three pointers down the stretch. Durant was able to help Seattle cut the Portland lead to 6 points with 1:20 left in the game. The superstar scored 8 points in a 2 minute span. Nash broke the hearts of the Seattle players as he put the game out of reach with a four point play late in the game.

Nash finished with 17 points and 5 assists. Brandon Roy led the Blazers with 23 points and Gordon was also deadly with 15 points and 6 assists. The Blazers had six players in double figures. Seattle had five players in double figures. Durant’s 30 was backed up by Raja Bell’s 13, Andrew Bogut’s 12, and 11 apiece from David Lee and Jason Kidd.

Despite the players claiming that the team have a deep rivalry, this series has not gotten nowhere near as ugly as the Clippers-Stealth series where Durant and Amare Stoudemire ‘conveniently’ got in each other’s way and caused trouble. Roy had some insight into it, “We are professional enough to know that our basketball does the talking. I guess they know that they wouldn’t be able to beat us in a fight.”

Notes: Jason Kidd recorded 0 assists in the second half… David Lee will have his ankle reassessed. The PF was hobbling around after the game and complained of the pain… The series goes back to Seattle where the Stealth has a dominant home record. They will need to win both Games 3 and 4 to stay in the series. The Stealth were trailing 0-2 after two games against the Blazers last year as well. Karl is hoping that the Stealth can repeat their performance and tie the series 2-2 after Game 4… After a 5-18 performance from Bell, Coach Karl hinted at a lineup change for Game 3…

Oh, damn, tough go so far. This team might actually be a bit too much for you, for the entire NBA, a lineup of Nash, Gordon, Roy, Boozer and Oden?

Start Ariza instead of Bell and game #3 is yours.

They just seem to have too much. I mean, they do not need a player to step up and beat you. That's one of the most solid teams in NBA history.
The injury of Lee does not make it better. You're lacking of guys down low if he's also out. Let's hope the best as the series goes back to Seattle.

The Blazers do seem pretty unstoppable with a star at every position. Sucks about the loss and Lee's injury. You went down 2-0 against them last year, and you managed to comeback. You eventually lost the series, but still.

Good luck in game 3 man. You'll need it.

Yeah, agree with Martti, you should start Ariza! (Y)

Damn, they are an all-star team.

Go Durant, you can do it! Go start bullying Roy!

With that you have a whole new storyline to take, Durant gets benched, Durant gets angry with Karl, insults, fists flying, Durant gets fined and suspended, etc.

Haha exactly, it must be done, how many satisfied readers would there be if Durant got benched, fined, suspended, told to stay away from the team, and then traded?!

Portland have the best starting five in basketball in this virtual association. (Y)

For once a cpu makes all the right moves!

Ariza isn't that good in my game.

Yeah, it sucks Lee went down. A big reason why we lost in the end too.

Durant has not had a crazy scoring game this series, he's due!

Ummm... no. We wouldn't stand a chance.

Durant's shit is what keeps all of you reading. Just admit it :P If I traded him away, it would be the end of the story. It's also not very realistic to trade away the NBA 2-time scoring champion about to enter his prime.

Since all of you want him... maybe.

2010 Flashback

Hey guys, thought I would dig up my last series against the Blazers. The first four games were awesome, the fifth and sixth ones was crap, and the sixth game is missing. That was a bit annoying.

And for the record, this would mean that the thread is missing a few posts.

ImageImageImage

Game One: Roy Leads Blazers To Comeback Win
Game Two: Blazers Hold Off Stealth’s Strong Fourth Quarter Performance
Game Three: Adam Morrison’s Two Magic Moments Steal Game Three
Game Four: Team Effort From Seattle Helps Tie Series
Game Five: Portland Kick It Into Higher Gear
Game Six: Rip City Back In NBA Finals

Hope you enjoyed the flashback!

Very strange that game 6 is missing :o

As for the game & series, it just seems you are overmatched at almost every position. You need your role players firing to have any chance of this. Oh, and Durant shooting better from behind the arc

Indeed, strange game 6 went missing. :( But games 1-4 were the real good ones, at least they still exist!
