The post was updated to reflect player and rookie of the month awards. I hope you guys enjoy the read there too. Everyone loves Jay Gray. (Y) There's a hint of a potential trade

Hmm, to be honest the only weird thing that I picked up was Chara who I thought wasn't a rookie anymore, but otherwise I didn't pick up that they were the old awards.

Yeah, too bad for them. Tim Duncan was very depressed.

You're not joking about that. I was watching Bucks versus Celtics last night & outside of Bogut, they pretty much sucked. They had a solid Turk SF in Ersan but had him getting abused by Garnett. I actually seriously thought "wouldn't it be nice if the Bucks had somebody just like Jay Gray to partner next to Bogut?". I'm deadly serious, that is what they need. Bogut is not a number 1 option, nor should he be. He's like a 2/3 option. He really should be averaging 5apg with his passing ability.

But yep, if you do get Gray, the only player you have whom is good enough to deal for him is Kevin Durant. I can't imagine the Bucks taking him in a deal for even Tyson & a 1st Rounder.

If I was to do a trade, it would be for Redd, not Gray.

TEAM REPORT

Phoenix traded away their franchise player, Amare Stoudamire, and then watched him lead his new club into the playoffs. The player they got in return, Baron Davis, failed to do the same. When Phoenix acquired Davis, everyone was excited about the prospect of Davis acting as their answer to Steve Nash and rookie Leo Chase filling in for the departed and disgruntled Stoudamire.

The pieces just didn’t fall into place. Nor did it seem right from the beginning.

Davis proved to be no Nash as he threw up shot after shot. Chase improved over the long season and looks to have a bright future but he is far from being a sure thing. The charismatic crowd favorite has a knack for picking off every rebound thanks to his freak athleticism and his hustle is his signature move. However, the PF has no real offensive game; much like Dwight Howard except to a higher degree.

“I’m not going to say we did the wrong thing,” GM Steve Kerr argues, “We didn’t because our hand was forced. We got an All-Star guard in Davis and we all knew that Chase was a project.” The move did come out with a number of positives. It forced Nate Robinson back to the bench, a role in which he has flourished. Perennial Suns sixth man, Leandro Barbosa, was promoted to the starting five while Jason Richardson rounded out a high scoring backcourt rotation with Davis, Barbosa, and Robinson.

The fast paced, free flowing Phoenix offence was back this past season but minus the passing prowess of a certain Canadian All-Star. The Suns missed the playoffs by a narrow margin on paper but in reality, they never had the frontcourt depth and chemistry to make it.

Steve Kerr is the best GM in the league. Everybody knows. Apart from that, sweet team review. The Suns are pretty old, aren't they. Good job, Mr. Kerr.

Damn do the Suns suck..

Steve Kerr really do stink as a GM, how can Big Z be part of a run and gun team and be good? The guy is as slow as Brad Miller!

The Suns are on a new "old" slow half-court offense look...Is Steve Kerr on the same family as Isiah Thomas?

Yikes that team is a disaster. What a shitty end to the careers of Hill and Big Z. :(

Not liking that Suns team either :P

Re: A Legend Is Born II - Phoenix Suns

Leo Chase is the future. :P

But Ray Lliach needs to thank Steve Kerr. He made the Clippers a playoff team. (Y) He's not that bad guys. :P

Haha, I have to agree with everyone else and say that the Phoenix Suns really are a disaster team at the moment, which sucks because I really like them. :(

I don't hate the Suns, their team is just a piece of crap. :P

They're not that bad... Baron Davis is the man. :)

Re: A Legend Is Born II - Phoenix Suns

Would be interesting to see them rebuilding, but in 2k9 players tend to play until their late thirties, which is not too unrealistic, but they don't get worse fast enough. Especially guards like B Davis will light you up even when they are 36. But maybe when Big Z and Grant Hill retired there will be more room for potential. (Lopez)

Yeah, the old players are still good in their final years. Kobe is going to be good forever.

btw hova, u like blueprint iii?

Well, I don't think it's a bad album, but it's very far away from being a classic. Tracks like "Run This Town" or "A Star Is Born" just hurt my heart deep. Jay-Z has been a the definition of Hip Hop for me until the Black album. After that it's been tough. "American Gangster" was underrated in my opinion, but the other two LPs (Blueprint III and Kingdom Come) are just not on Jay-Z level.

I do like some tracks though. "What We Talkin' Bout" is really dope imho. "Thank You" is okay and "Already Home" is also nice to listen to. What do you think?
